H.U.D and Sunroofs
I'm planning on getting a new chassis, but have a few questions.
S13's -- Is it only the USDM version's that came with digital H.U.D? I've yet to see a Silvia with one. Also, is it possible to install/retrofit one in (either a USDM hatch, 180, Silvia)? (Yes I used the search button) S14's -- Do all models (Kouki + Zenki) come with electric retractable sunroof's? (or was it just the SE/LE etc..) Are there any that actually came with HUD from the factory? I loves OEM digi bling ![]()

S13.. i dont recall Silvia coming with HUD.. regardless.. HUD is readable both KMH and MPH.
yes it is possible, but its not really retrofitting, everything is plug and play with the harness. Depending what motor you have, SOHC or DOHC, you have to change the RPM face gauge. and speed sensor. |

Once again (for the third time) all JDM generations came with OEM HUD (meaning from the factory). Only USDM S13s came with HUD. I dont know the S14 sunroof answer, and this didnt need its own thread.

you can use any s13 vss with the hud system. my coupe has a hud, it was an auto when i got it, then i swapped and non huds manaul trans into it, and just recently a dohc non hud motor set into it. in all three versions the hud has worked flawlessly

Thats because you had the correct generation gauge cluster and VSS, which is exactly what I said. It worked every time because you used a 91-94 VSS in a 91-94 chassis, with a 91-94 gauge cluster and ECU. duh Quote:
OEM replacement windshield is $3k+, no matter where you get it. Didnt I say that like 3 times?

yes if you want a new your looking at $1500 alone for just the windshield and thats wholesale then your going to have to pay the markup of whoever got it for you.
Check that I just looked at courtesy parts and they have them for $700 but your still going to have to pay shipping for a windshield from TX which is 100 bucks tro my zip in nor-cal. SO looks like one can be had for $8-$1000

And yes, this does deserve it's own thread. I've yet to see a dedicated thread about H.U.D's, not scarce info.
