yeah, I'm wondering the same thing here. I was thinking the fender braces and their t/c rods, but I want to know how good their product is before I buy anything. $140 for t/c rods is great IMO, but quality of first and foremost. Anybody ever get anything??

haha
no worries, just bustin' your balls man i have Kazama ones..but i got them very cheap ![]() and i had them when SPL was still carrying kazama parts let me break it down for yaz this is from SPL site, the rear upper arms, the 'flat' ones are same as NAMS how do i know? because i've seen the ENTIRE NAMS s13 line in person. from lower rear a-arms to front lower control arms. the upper and lower subframe bushings collars are very similar to the KAZAMA ones the pro are every similar to the NAMS ones! the tnesion rods are VERY similar to NAMS too. fyi, the NAMS tc rods ARE RIDICULOUSLY HUUUUUGE! if i were you, ge the SPL stuff, its cheaper you DONT need the bling, because when it comes down to it, its all about quality. whether it be cusco, JIC, NAMS, or SPL, its all about quality. Kuah/SPL makes great stuff. i gotta order the Collar bushings myself still....ack...muuust save money....... |

aaron-san strikes again!
word dude.
see, now you got me all peekin at SPL's site as well as Alex's (BattleVersion) site... now I'm just confused but at the very least I have decided to just go with a combo of SPL and BattleVersion parts. anywho, the thing I am confused about is this: my suspension is totally stock with the exception of Eibach Sportline springs (2" drop) and TOKICO blues for shocks... I feel like I am having this horrible problem with bumpsteer - its like no matter where i drive, if i let go of the wheel for even a split-second, the car just starts following every little groove/line in the road, and it SUCKS... the car feels really floaty and I can't take my hands off the wheel for even one second or itll float off... I got it re-aligned several times. Camber/toe and all in the front is fine, last I checked the rear was off by almost -2. deg (-1.5 to be exact i think; the most they could adjust it was like 1/10 of a degree and it sits currently at about -2.6 or so, maybe closer to -3.. i forgot) and the toe is off by a good amount as well. I was thinking about getting the RUA to fix the camber issues and maybe helping the drive, but then i was reading on SPL's site that the RUA alone will alter the geometry of the other rear links, which will just cause more bumpsteer. they recommend purchasing a rear traction arm and getting it all realigned at a shop. my question is then, all i will need is the RUA and the traction arm, or should i just get a toe link also and get it over with? i am retarded when it comes to suspension. please teach me, aaronsan :P ![]() seriously tho, i would like to hear your input and what you think. i value your opinion when it comes to chit like this so your input is appreciated dude. ![]() word. |

bumpsteer? its your toe being off.simple as that. if you still have it..you are amazing, i have very minimal bumpsteer w/ my setup. what areyour wheel offsets?
you can live w/o a toe arm, yeah more bumpsteer, but honestly NOT that much, unless you are crazy. im -4 degrees and ist a lot. bumpersteer...meh, i dont know. coilovefr so stiff but car is SOLID at higher speeds on and predictable/responsive at the track..front i have bumpsteer issues but very minimal in rear i'd get the RUCA. you MUST get an alignment!! im tired so i mssed someof your q..sorrry |

NAMs has an entire line of suspension products? i thought they were just a small shop in japan who custom fabricated and mass produced those fender bars. do you have pics of their products in one of your many jdm magazines or have their website? i'll try to google it. what do i type in to search? NAMS? lol.

the wheels are stock '91 SE Alloys (the 6 or seven or whatever spoke ones)... i dunno the offset offhand, but thats what the car's wearing. ;p
i am gonna get the RUA and get it aligned... pondering maybe getting the toe arm as well, we'll just have to see how budget works out... that **** ****es me off though, makes driving on the freeway a PITA... word. you gonna be at D1? mebbe you can take a look at the car then doodsan. ;p Quote:

ya, the shock/spring setup is not stock (Eibach Sportline/TOKICO) and its about a 2" drop... i assume the drop has a lot to do with the handling problems (since the drop messes everything else up).
im probably gonna get the RUA and the toe link later on, and get all that **** aligned... hopefully that'll solve my problems if youve got any other advice lemme know dude, i will look for you @ D1 (will prolly be with some NorCal heads and some buddies) Quote:

Thanks for the recommendation Dousan
![]() Just to clear things up, most tuners like Kazama do not manufacture their own parts in-house... they oursource their production to various "factories" in Japan (in some cases outside of Japan), but the same factory can offer nearly identical products to other shops. So you might have noticed, for example, that the Kazama tension rods look "very similar" to the URAS tension rods and our own SPL tension rods. What I have done is to find the best "hookup" on good products, avoiding the "tuner markup". We rebadge them as "SPL" for 2 reasons: for one, the name of the shops/manufacturers we source through mean nothing to 99.9% of the enthusiasts in the USA; and it protects our sources ![]() Quote:

Re: aaron-san strikes again!
If your toe is OK at stock ride height, and you are now dropping the ride height and extending our the upper arm to correct for rear camber, we recommend getting the traction rod ("upper toe arm") to adjust for toe rather than getting the toe arm ("lower toe arm").
This is because both the upper arm and the upper toe arm are connected to the upper part of the rear upright, but the lower toe arm is connected to the LOWER part of the rear upright. The toe changes that result from extending out the upper arm should be compensated for using the upper toe arm (traction rod). This maintains the geometry better in this case vs. using the lower toe arm. If your toe is not OK at stock ride height, then you will need both the toe arm and traction rod to eliminate bumpsteer when you drop the suspension. But as Dousan pointed out, bumpsteer won't be very noticeable in this Nissan rear multilink, I wouldn't worry about it unless its a race car where every little bit counts. So in this case, most go with just the adjustable lower toe arm and that's OK. Quote:

woot kuah rocks! hahah
yep i know what you mean about in japan and suspension...cusco/section, and SO MANY coilovers are like that..hehehe but im SO Happy to see US companies making parts that are of HIGH QUALITY (like some in japan) which makes me sooo happy. no crappy VIS stuff and so forth.. great stuff just side note, my buddy nailed a rock in the mountains, the rear toe link saved him. the absorbed all the impacted...he had a Battle Version one.. his wheel hit the rock, the upright cracked and toe rod bent, but the wheel was perfect ![]() kuah!!!! WE WANT ADJUSTABLE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS!!! THOSE ARE SICK!!!! |

Thanks again
![]() ![]() We also source those front lower arms from Japan, but we had to modify them here, the design had a serious omission. The ones shown on the website are the ones we just finished for the Z32... the cost of buying them, then having to modify them again, is horrible. But we plan to offer less expensive alternatives, such as solid bearing/bushings that can be pressed into the stock arms... Quote:

![]() YES THATS WHAT IM TALKIN' ABOUT!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() if you release those ill have to seriously avoid the track to get them...uuuugh so nice! ah cool cool. yeah i know FLCA is $$$ my friend w/ a z32 wants them..he dies when he looks at your webpage haha im just happy FLCA prices dropped drastically in japan in recent times..that's great. im thinking Ikeya Formula i saw the NAMS one a couple of weekends ago. quality seems pretty good and i love the adjustabilty and such..but still, out of my 'range' as far as what else my car needs..anyways, keep up the great work! |
