re-seal oil pan, piston rings, rod/main bearings. <- it'll be worth it to have a fresh engine. those parts are cheap.

the parts are cheap .. but to put them in can get way out of his price range.

and its not a good idea to cheap out on machine work

Its a good thing that the damage caused by not replacing either of these are cheap yeah?

Cost vs Risk. Is the risk of replacing your motor worth the cost of not replacing these items?

Im going through the same process right now. It ends up being expensive but a lot of stuff you might as well do it while the engine is out and apart, such as the timing chain and oil pump. I was just going to replace the pistons. Ended up replacing the rods, all gaskets, bearings, oil pump timing chain, etc.. I say just save up for the extra parts before you put it all back in. Also nissanparts.cc is the cheapest site for most of the parts listed.

thenismoshop.com (west covina nissan) also has great pricing for the timing chain and oil pump. it's alot of money but I plan on purchasing those later this week for my swap too.

I did just about all the above listed with my SR before swapping, BUT wish I would have spent some more time and thought when it came to cleaning up the engine bay along with wiring while everything was easily accessable. Just my

SPL has a clutch fork pivot cheaper than the nismo. I'm sure its just as good if not better, considering all their other quality parts.
