So I'm driving my car yesterday and rev my engine while at a stop light.  I hear this wierd noise like "tink tink tink" but it only seems to happen around 3-4k rpm.

So this morning I get in the car, let it sit for about 30 seconds and rev lightly to about 3-4k rpm and sure enough I hear "tink tink tink".  So I drive to work with the radio off and don't hear a sound.  I pull in to the parking lot and rev the engine to 3-4k rpm, no sound.  I rev higher still nothing.

The first time I heard the noise, the car had been warmed up and running for about an hour.  This morning the engine was still cold, then  I heard nothing after it warmed up.

It's a 98 s14 with 58k miles.  Any ideas?
