unknown power steering leak...
So i have been losing ATF fluid for some time now, and idk where to look.
When i bought the car it has the soggy high pressure line so i replaced that, but it still leaks. It doesn't leak from that line, the reservoir, or the pump. I can't tell if it leaks from the rack, but all the hard lines back there are in good condition and everything is tight like a tiger. I'm starting to suspect it's coming from the seals at the ends, by the boots, but idk. If so, is there a rebuild kit available or should i save up and buy a rebuilt one from frsport (im soooo down to rebuild one so idc) Or is there other places i should look? Search just told me that it usually is from the soggy line or the hard lines, nothing seems to be wrong there or at the pump so idk!

how's the area under the power steering stuff look?
is it grimmy? could be the rubber hoses under that's what mine did replaced all those hoses and cleaned up the area and everything's been nice and clean since you could pop the boot off the tie rods to have a look at the rack seals friend of mine went though this recently leaking from the rack replaced with a rebuilt one and started leaking again recently |
