How can I move my windows up and down if the motors are broken?

So my window motors are broken and I don't really care. My 240 is a dedicated track car so the windows always stay up.

Trouble is, before they broke, I rolled down my windows to work on the car

Is there any way to simply just get the windows up without having to repair the motors (get new ones)? I searched and found info on installing new motors and stuff but nothing about this...

Try and put 12v to the motors and I shipped out the headlight harness thrusday but my brother only put one in the box so today I sent the other one unless I just found another either way there on their way

Haha! Thanks man.

As for the 12 volt. I assume that wont work if the motors are broken will it. I was hoping there was a way to just lift the window up with my hands, or turn a crank inside the door by hand...

Anything like that?

if the motor is broken i think your out of luck, you can try to take a 12v batter to the 2 prong plug right out of the switch(reverse polarity so either way is safe one goes up then reverse wires on battery and itll go up.) watch out for your hands inside the door near the springs by the way if those come loose could be by by finger or two, but hey what do i know im kind of a nooby and still learning just thought id share the knowledge so far

PS by taking a battery to the switch i mean pull out some wires and tape em around the + and - cables real good dont cross em while moving the battery around i arced it pretty good one night lol. this is also a way to determine wether your switch or motor is broken fyi

The way you describe "motors broke" and say it happened when you were doing a repair makes it sound like they both went bad at the same time.

It's pretty unlikely that both motors went bad at the same time. Are you sure that it's not a switch or an electrical problem somewhere else?

Ya, I guess your tight RICE. The drivers side one is not totally broken. It works, just not well. The passenger one does not work at all. It worked before I put it into storage for the year (I rolled it down last year when working on it). When I took it out of storage after 7 months, it no longer works. :S

I just want my window up

Why not just replace them? If you an't afford 50 dollar regulators, you need to find a new job.

Cant you just open it up,remove the motor slightly out of alignment so the tooth of both rails and gear doesnt touch, move it up shut, then bolt the motor back in. Done deal.

Thats what i did with my dad's Jetta.

Im surprised it doesnt have an allen key for manual crank....

IDK, i never really ran into this type of problem with my 240, but my dad's even has it on the sunroof.. Pretty cool if you ask me.

GL though. Hope it works.
