bataangpinoy's coupe build

Over the summer I got rid of my e30 and stepped into this shitbox hatch:

which i hated with a passion.
I traded it for a complete sr20 swap, which had a built head but a blown bottom end. I picked up a better bottom end from Sean guynup, and i plan to hone that block and add new rings and bearings before i slap it together.

Im excited to be building an s13 correctly, i didnt like having a clapped out one in the least bit.

its got some rot that needs to be addressed, both frame rails and some on the roof. where can i purchase the frame rail caps that i see people using all the time?

First off, let me thank all the veterans out there, and all those still serving. Without them, i would probably not have the capacity to write this article from the comfort of my leather couch.

My birthday just passed, and my parents really went all out for no apparent reason and got me a tool chest. After assembling the chest and cleaning the garage, Tom and I mocked up most of the head to seewhat hardware I would need to order, to look for additional damage, and to mock up hose length for when we make my turbo lines out of braided line.

Additionally, my friends dad's friend was a machinist before he retired. had him look at the block, and he said that its in surprisingly good shape.
He said that a good hone will set me straight, and showed me how to use a stone hone (the three legged thing). I figured the moon was a good omen!

i clean the garage for them, minor house repair etc.. but they are very very cool, i taught my dad slide control in the snow and sooner or later i plan to take him to an event.

my mom likes to jump in a car with me when im drifting, and i slide my driveway once in a while.

i love my folks, i wouldnt be anything without them

I got ready to assemble the motor over Presidents Day weekend, but Nissanparts.cc screwed me over. I had paid for and ordered STD size bearings but they sent me .050” oversize bearings. Additonally, they didnt send me the lower rad hose I ordered or the trans bolt kit. And I cant get in touch with them either. They just lost a customer. Here is what it looks like after I broke it down and honed it.

here's what the car looks like now!

Massive Udates seen here at Hillside. If you have tumblr, Subscribe to the Hillside main page or the Hillside Garage sub-page.

The law of attraction has proven itself true time and again. Whether it was attracting the wrong kind of girl for me or even cigarettes; if I had something playing on repeat in my mind it would find me in some obscure manner. I thought that I'd never get my car even close to done, but being genuine with people has paid off. Good things rarely come back full circle, but when they do, it makes life a hell of alot easier. It's going to be a long, pic heavy post so grab your favorite drink and a snack; you'll be here for a minute.....Ready? Here we go!

If I needed small S13-specific hardware Mike, a long time drifter and now local, hooked it up; no questions asked.

Andrew over at D-Up! hooked it up and allowed me to "intern" over there since sometime this passed September, and the experience has proven to be invaluable. I work my hardest to help make things move along smoothly. Check out the practice welds!

Evan at D-Up! literally donated 2 sets of wheels and 3 pairs of tires to me so that my car would have something to roll on. I am more than grateful, and I'm still looking for a way to return the kindness. Perhaps I'll cover his entry fee at an upcoming event.
Here is the first set:

And the second set:

Because of their contributions, my build has taken a turn in the right direction. I'm dead serious, I wouldn't even be close without help. Here is where I am at as of today.

This is whats going to decorate my Office for 2012 race season. Grip Royal's Royal Hills steering wheel (It was created and named for this blog, ask Scott if you don't believe me!), Slimline QR Tomei 70mm, and a TF RELAX in black mounted on Nams Rails.

Painted Bay! The booster is going to be painted black again.

Piggy Front Lip:

Tom came thru big time, helping me finish up the SR20DET build while my shoulder was grenaded. Sr complete!

Baby Turbo!

Look at my Tomei Dump pipe. OG type shit! Just kidding, but it is a nice piece.

Orc 409 single active:

Bosch Recirculation Valve. It was free from the junkyard, so why not?

S14 N/A Sr MAF w/ Isis Filter:

Drop Engineering Hubs

Love this life I lead. Bless!

-Galen Nazareno

This is what Galen’s actual bay looks like right now! Lets see whats going on.

Stacks of 17’s! We rarely find this size. Big up to Andy Zenker aka Wordsux for supplying tires.

Spare Sr20 parts!!

Intercoolers, Rads and piping!!

RSFB Carnage, and more bushings to press in.

Best companies ever!

My favorite and most used pieces of this toolbox.

And here is the view from the Hills. This is why we love livin out here.

Galen will be home on wednesday for Easter break, and we plan to get his car on the ground and running if the wiring harness makes its way back from Florida.

[Made some killer progress over Easter break, the car finally got off the jackstands and onto teh ground!

Rear subframe bushing install:

Roller

Here is the side shot of my car, and Tom's (hillside's) recently finished 95 zenki.
You should have seen the look on his face when I brought it back to him after finishing some minor suspension adjustments and fitted on the mustang wheels. The car felt great, and we took it out for some testing. I loved it, and Tom must have because he drove it well too!

Are those the circuit sports mounts? And what'd you think of the quality on the drop hubs? I'm looking at ordering both of those items soon.
