N1 rb26 failure

I dont know what i did wrong , i replaced my 26 water pump with a brand new rb25 n1 water pump.. Started the car and its spraying coolant likecrazy..
I know rb25 pumps and 26's r the same.
Any help guys

Not to insult your intelligence, but you did use gasket maker to seal it up correct? Where exactly is the water spraying out of?

Yeah there's no oblong bolt hole in you block BUT that the upgraded N1 water pump has one, and it open to your cooling system. you'll have to weld it or seal it up.. its common

I wouldn't do this but...

I have read that most ppl fill the whole with silicone as its a very small part not sealed.

So i dontneed to remove the whole pump ? Just fill the hole with rtv and put back the bolt with a washer ?

yea its common like they said, i have heard of doing both, silicone the shit out of it or weld it as well, i would assume welding it shut would be better?correct? i mean im sure its about than $10 bucks for someone to weld that for you. or Free if you have a machine.

i had 2 rb26 with N1 pump !!!! all my bolt were in place except for that one your talking about !!! put alot of RTV in the oval hole and insert bolt bolt with washer !!!

never leaked any coolant


i used the orange RTV that came in my rebuilt gasket kit !!!

If you dont want to remove the pump ! Make sure you dry everything cause the Rtv wont stick good

use "Ultra Gray" silicone too.. it dries much harder.

just bragging : my R34 engine doesn't have this problem
