bushings

what happens when these wear out and how important is it to change them.

assuming I just go OEM replacements kind of thing are they expensive or hard to replace?

Cost me around $60. The bushings were a little over 40 and then 20 for the mechanic to press out the old ones and press in new ones.

Replacing bushings will make your car feel new again. Getting them installed is expensive so what you should do is replace all your parts that have bushing with stronger, lighter, pillowball parts, also expensive. That's what I'm doing and it makes your car so much more responsive. Plus you don't have to be pressing bushings in. For subframe bushings, just get some subframe spacers. It's an easier install and will give you better performance.
