HID info
ok i would like to get and HID kit, and i was wondering if anyone has hook one up on their car and how hard is it sence they say its plug and play, and i am confused about the (6000k,7000k,8000k) and so on i know it means what color it comes out, but some ppl say 8000k is white/blue and some ppl say 6000k is white/blue or white/perpule?

the higher the Kelvin number (K) the more blue the light will be.
OEMs do 4200/4300K HID.. anything up to 5300K or so is still pretty acceptable in terms of whiteness. Something like 4000K is natural sunlight. When you get past 6000K and especially up to 8000K, it gets blue. REALLLY blue. Look stupid to me, and it doesn't do anything positive for your light output.. at that point your stock halogen lamps would be putting out more light than those. |
