5spd Is300?

How much generally are they worth? Reason being is i have a trade offer for my car for an 03 is300 with 146k miles on it. its a 5spd and bone stock. I know 5spds are rare for this car but i have been searching around trying to find a car similar for sale but cant seem to find a general price. Bads with it are a shock is going out, a balljoint needs replaced, clutch is going out, the driver side lock actuator doesnt work so it doesnt auto lock and center console isnt the cleanest. the shock and ball joint are being replaced before sale and it comes with a new exedy stage 1 oem clutch and pressure plate. Oh yeah, Apparently it has a bullet hole in the passenger door too. He wanted 2500 on top and ive talked him down to straight trade. let me know. This is my cl ad.
Swapped 240sx for trade

and pictures of the Is

I would say it would be straight trade since of the condition of his car, but why would you trade for that?

He said he was drunk and it was an accident. I was really for the trade until i actually saw it. I'm really starting to stray away from it now.

I would trade, purely based off the fact that your car looks like trash and his doesn't need much work.

IS300's go for more than your asking price and that is with a salvage title.

I'd honestly rather have no paint than a rusted bullet hole. But im still not too sure if i'd rather have a no paint 240 over a bullet hole is.

This is a goood reason to buy! Hidden drugs = higher profit margin for you and dead hookers are better because they dont say no and you dont have to pay them

I would not do that trade! All you car needs is paint the bay is clean and interior... As opposed to a car that comes with a violent past... Lol keep your car

is300 suck when doing maintenance. no hand room for changing oil filter With oil filter wrench. 2jz N/As have the throttle body on top so changing spark plugs is a b*tch. Removing stock headers is almost impossible.

Ive been leaning to an is300 because like zar said they have a higher value than the 240. And ive been looking more for a luxury car with some kick to it still. But i think im finally realizing na 2j's dont have too much of a kick with the weight and only like 220 stock hp. been wanting an s2k too because they look badass, nice power with stock engine, not too crazy overprice, and i love the interior. Plus i guess because its a honda, reliability.

The bullet hole is clearly coming from the inside of the car meaning the door panel was replaced.

I love that fact that you're so prepared to trade for this when you've supposedly gotten offers for 8k

Look at Kelly Blue Book and decide which car you should keep.

The trade up is obvious.

Despite how hard cramped the engine bay is, you don't need to change your plugs everyday so it's not that big of a deal.

All the other stupid people saying you shouldn't do it are obvious fanboys.

As for pussy factor? A girl isn't going to know the difference between a primered Zenki front or S15 front. She's gonna think it looks like shit.

Just trade and sell it and buy another S chassis if you're that worried.

Yes I was stupid not to take that offer. But as I've said before, I wasn't even done with the car when I got the offer. I wanted to enjoy what I worked so hard on. And obviously I'm not so prepared when I'm asking for second opinions. Now would you stop trolling everywhere I go with my car on this forum?

in that condition probably worth around 8-9 with clean title door can be fixed. yet it does seem sketch. for the 220hp decent but smooth pick up want more power drop some cash and get the srt kit. changing oil and oil filter isnt hard at all and your hands can fit fine in there. i have a 04 is3 43xxx miles and also 5spd. thinking about selling it but for no less then 18,000 bone stock execpt for springs. but thats just me

I'd trade up. Look at how much autos are going for in your area, that would give you an idea of a price point for a manual. Also, check out IS/Lexus forums. It'd be easier to sell the IS afterwards for a profit if you end up not liking it. With the money made it can move you into a much better car.

This seems like an easy decision to me, unless you truly feel you could get more money for your car.

Not saying it being mean or anything but it looks like your car probably needs more money invested to get it straightened out compared to the Lexus.

The 5-speeds are hard to come by. Try finding one under 9k it ain't easy. And swapping to a 5 speed in those cars is expensive, that is if you decide to pass this deal up and pick up an auto later or something and must have a 5 speed...And as far as sportiness they ain't like fast or nothing but they get up and go. A lot faster than the automatic ones.

And I've owned 5 KA motors to the one 2JZ motor I own and would work on a 2JZ any day over a KA. NA or TT it don't matter those engines are a cake walk. The over the top manifold is not as hard as it looks, I can have it and the plugs out in maybe 15-20 minutes taking my time lol.

There is something in your mind that tells you, you want it. Just do it. And if you don't like it just sell it later.

Here is a pic of my roommates car to give you some peer pressure.

Jesus Christ that IS looks like a POS.

For example I gave 7K for my current IS its a auto, clean title, original perfect paint and interior. Recently had water pump, belts ext changed at the dealership. Well worth it.

5apd swap with a R154, is goin to run you over 2K easily. If you wanted a IS, get a 05 up. So you get the factory navigation the center arm rest ext. I wish I would have waited and gotten a 05 up. The 03 is nice but sucks I have no nav or center arm rest.

Keep your 240, get the front properly aligned and centered, paint it. And be done. That IS just looks like its been ragged on.
