apexi exhaust control valve installed

now that i have the ECV installed in 3" straight pipe with a resonator, i'm wondering how much i can close the ECV and drive around without damaging the engine, and too much increase in exhaust temperature.
i have to close the ECV about 3/4 way in order to make the sound low enough for my daily driving. However, i'm not sure if it's ok to constantly drive around this way.

thanks in advance

its custom 3" single exhaust with pipe end instead of canister end.
the reason i got the ecv is so that i can drive quitely for DD. but open it up at track.
but ecv is not doing a greay job on reducing the sound unless its closely closed. ..

You're only supposed to close it when you have to...ie coasting up to a cop. Wasnt meant to muffle exhaust sound, just slow the flow out...less exhaust coming out, less noise. Do not drive it with it close...it wont even build up RPM since itll choke the engine out.

i don't drive around with it closed.
I close 3/4 way on local, below 2K RPM.
once i hit the freeway, cruising 2900 RPM, i open it up more.
will this be ok?

I used to daily my old S13 and would drive with it 80% closed on the streets without any issues. On the highway or when I would romp on it I would open it up.
