We had a recent problem with the electrics in the car and it was eventually found to be the blue 100A fuse under the hood in the engine bay. The 100A fuse is bolted in and needs to have the fuse box disassembled to replace it.

The main problem I have is that I’m currently in California and the car is in Florida – the person that’s going to be replacing the fuse will be my GF!!!

So does anybody happen to have a link to a walk-through – preferably with photographs so that I can talk her through this via Skype and not have to explain absolutely every step of the process?

I dont remember taking my fuse box apart on my s14,just a magnetic screwdriver,2 bolts,takes less than 5mns if its your first time,make sure she doesnt strip the bolt on the philips side

If the box doesn't need taking apart that's much better - I thought I'd read that you need to take the fuse box apart to get access to the retaining bolt for the fuse?

I was thinking that the nut at the top right in this photo had to be undone and the fuse box separated to get access to the retaining bolt?

Any tips you can give me to pass on for ease of extraction and replacement of the fuse?

you gotta un screw the cable on the side of the fusebox, unbolt the one on top with the 90 degree ring terminal, then unclip the right hand chunk of the fusebox (i had no idea these came apart? haha) then pull it up and unscrew it on the other side
