I know im probably of lesser knowledge...but point out my fault...but the way i see it...a bigger heavier engine in a lighter car without proper balancing the weight would make your gas mileage worse. You know of the ratio of power to weight. but yea, lock her up...im waiting.

gas mileage is gonna suck because youre always gonna be too heavy on the throttle.

you're getting trolled.... it's not 8-10 mpg. i would guess somewhere in the mid to high 20s combined if its a NA 2j. turbo would be maybe low 20s, i have no clue.

just a suggestion...but yea, i know the 8-10 was BS...but i left it alone...its not that important to me, just asked out of curiosity. Its good to do calculations early...For the record, im not planning to do a 2j...its just something i was thinking about.
I most likely wouldnt go with the 2jz...but its something to consider and has been done by a few...I wanted to do something different not everyday swaps but nothing that hasnt been done before...i dont know anything about 2js, so i asked, you can close the thread...i dont know why its still here lol |

My post was stupid correct?? :-) as in a complete waste of your time reading, agree?? If you do, which based on your reply it seems like you do. Then my point was made.
Now you understand how everyone on this board probably feels after coming across this Thread. Your planning on doing a swap, for the purpose of making power. Reliability, a newer engine, something turbo etc. all points that can be argued but the priority is power. The reason why you didn't get a straight answer from anyone is because economically if your doing a swap gas mileage is almost always the least of your worries. To the point where IF your even serious enough to make a thread about it, then your better off purchasing a Economical daily driver, a Honda ruckus, or a hybrid. Not a swapped 240. Not swapped with an sr, vq, 2jz, rb etc. A newer (any economy car, think enterprise rental fleet) will have what you need. This thread is absurd, is what it boils down to. And the reason why you probably couldn't find an answer, if you searched first is because of the absurdness of the question. Don't take any of this personally, it's not meant in any way shape or form as an attack against you. I'm just letting you know the truth. Again, good luck with your quest if you still decide on pursuing your swap. P.s. I'm surprised no one has Made a Florida comment yet. |
