Trunk Trouble

So im sure quite a few of you might have had this same problem. so before i decide to take it to some shop or junk yard i wanted to see if its something easy i can possibly do myself. so here it is.. my trunk lever wont pop open my trunk anymore. key hole works just fine. any key possibilities to why this happens ? and good way to fix it? help would be appreciated

EDIT: sorry i forgot to mention. its an s14 to give you all a better idea of which car it is.

The cable probably popped off or one of those plastic clips broke. I have an S13 and it was the other way around for me, lever worked but the key wouldnt, and it was just a stupid little rod that fell out. 10 minute fix for me.

First check if the lever is pushed down inside the trunk where the latch goes into. Make sure its its in the up position. You can try adjusting the striker piece and the latch on the trunk to see if fixes your problem.

I had the same problem with mine but too much hassle to replace cable if it snapped, i recommend adding a power solenoid, u can get one on ebay for 15 bucks
