SR20DET Crankshaft?
Hey does anyone know if the crankshaft bearings and the crankshaft are exactly the same between red top motors? i might need to get a new crank and my friend is telling me that on toyotas even though its the same car there are like 2 or 3 different cranks and bearings.

The main bearings & rod bearings are graded for size. My crank (red top) speced out within the factory tolerances for black top crank. The grade of the journal for ether the mains or the rods are just to make up for any machining differences. The difference between the largest to smallest grade on the mains is .001 over 4 grades & on the rods it is .0007 over 3 grades. This how Hondas and some of the Toyotas I have played with are. So NO they are not all the same, but with different grades of bearings you can make it work.

kdv20, do you know where i can get sr20det engine specs?
as in, main bearing bore size specs, cylinder diameter specs, etc etc? at school we use prosis for those engine specific specs, and since i was looking for an sr20det and plan on rebuilding it, i'd like to have the specs since sr20det is a japanese motor. |
