I just purchased a Nissan Consult cable and tried to install the free Conzult software but after its installed and I try to open the program my laptop says Conzult.exe has stopped working and then I have to close it blah blah blah

Ive tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the software from online and multiple different sites and it keeps telling me the same thing

has anyone else experienced this problem? is it because the freeware is old software or is it my computer?

I use the free version of conzult, windows 7 64bit.
Soooooo, are you able to set the com port? File --->Settings?

I used the 32 bit version for vista.
The program doesnt even open up. everytime I try to open it that error comes up that it has stopped working

Can you run it in compatibility mode for window xp sp3 or something like that?

right click on the short cut, or exe. If you don't see troubleshoot compatibility select properties. read the tabs.

try updating drivers for either com port or usb drivers, and like cotbu said, run as compatibility (right click on .exe, click on compatibiltiy tab, select compatibility mode, also make sure you turn off User account control setting, you may need to restart your computer for UAC to change

So I tried running it in compatability mode and no luck. I checked my drivers and it says they are all updated.

I guess what I need to figure out now is if its a problem with the software or my computer

Just use the free version. This is what i use ever since Cotbu recommended it. It works like a charm ! Shows everything i need to know.

OP, are you able to run as administrator? Right click on the program and Run as administrator.

Is nistune required to use this software and if not is it worth it without nistune?

Not at all. I'm currently using it on my Stock RB25 ECU. Yes it's worth it without NIStune. It displays pretty much everything you need to know. I use it for everything man, and it even displays any ECU codes you may be throwing.

i use it too. my tach is off since i run a bigger engine so this tells me exact rpm's. i love it
