Clutch noise over 3k rpms

wen i shift over 3k or rev the car with the clutch in over 3k. there is a loud grinding noise.. im thinking its just the throwout bearing but im not too sure..

clutch does not slip.. sometimes it doesnt wanna go into 4th but its rare

when you shift at these times, does the trans go into gear smoothly? or do you have to force it?
is it ALL gears or just particular ones? have you checked your hydraulic system to make sure that the clutch is being fully disengaged when you press the pedal down?

do some homework, then report back so we can give you more specific suggestions.

it shifts no problem.. except for fourth gear like i said. but thats not all the time.. also how would i be able to check if it disengages completely? just from driving it seems like it is.. my clutch also engages pretty late. towards the end of the pedal

your clutch pedal is adjustable. there is a rod that attaches from the pedal to the back of the clutch master cylinder. you can thread it in or out to change the engagement point. try adjusting it to see if that resolves your issue. i have a feeling when you're pressing the pedal down its not fully disengaging the clutch disc.

just a hunch tho. could be something else. always check the easy/simple stuff first.

o ok i know what your saying.. when i first got the car i tried doing that.. i adjusted to far out so then it made it slip alot. so i threaded it the other way so it would stop slipping.. plus wouldnt it slip if it wasnt disengaging all the way?

Slip = clutch not fully engaging
Grind = clutch not fully disengage

gotcha... so after i adj it. do i need to bleed it? i see some people saying i do and some i dont

well, have a friend push the pedal while you watch the slave cylinder. if they are pressing the pedal, and the slave cyl is not moving, then you need to bleed it. unless something is leaking, or you recently replaced a component, there should not be any reason air has been introduced into the system.
