I installed the Eibach Sportline springs on my s13 with KYB's and

. They say 2.2" in front and 2.1" in back. It dropped more like 2" in front and 2.5" in back. That really pisses me off. I hate it when cars sit lower in back then in the front. And the funny thing is that I have an RB25DET, which is an extra 60lb or so.

Just wait for the springs to settle.. the front will drop more. 2.5" in the rear is odd though, especially on initial install. Double check the seating on those maybe...

It's been a week or so already. The 2" and 2.5" are not exact numbers but it defenetly sits lower in the back.

If the ride height was equal, the fender gap in the rear would be smaller. Maybe it just looks lower.

not to be mean or anything but are you sure you installed the right springs in the right their spots, it sounds like you installed the rear springs in the front and the front in the rear.

hahahahahaha thats a physical impossability unless your completely brain dead. have you ever looked underneath your wheel wells at your springs? the fronts are a hell of a lot wider diameter then the rears. the only time they are same diameter is on coilovers. you should do some research and know what your talking about before going and making such a dumb

i thought thats how its suppose to go...they drop the rear more to hold up the weight of the engine in the front.

maybe u should try putting the KYB to the lowest settings...so that the springs absorb more? and that way theyre more compressed i guess...it takes a while for springs to settle

Strip the rear interior, get rid of weight in the back if you can, to raise up that suspention

take out the bodies in your trunk... I'm surprised the smell hasn't got to you already... did you mess w/ the bumpstops in anyway?

does anyone know why the front springs are wayy larger in diameter (w/ the exception of coilovers)... just wondering.

b/c technically the rear shocks are "coilovers" meaning spring coil over shock.

The front's on our cars are struts.

Is there there a reson why the front springs are larger in diameter? I know the fronts are struts and the rear are shocks, but is there a particular reason for the diameter of the front springs?

get a picture, i want to see this. I have the sportlines too and my front sits lower and i have over a 100lbs worth of subs and amps in my rear. Front drop is 2.2 and rear is 2.1 claimed by eibach.

Just to let you know....

I've been told that you measure the FRAME height. If you think about it, if you were to measure the fenders, i think that would stay pretty constant, just like the frame height. So i dunno....i was told to measure frame height when lowering a car.

Any input from the masses?

Struts don't have as much travel as a shock, so they use a larger diameter spring to absorb the same amount of force in a shorter distance.

Shock/Strut setting does not affect static ride height.

Measure ride height from the kick panel or the frame rail. Our cars have a larger front wheel well for some reason so it can look like it's sitting higher in the front when it's actually even.
