Removing JDM junkyard writing/paint?

Pretty much exactly what the title says, what experiences have folks had with removing the jdm junkyard paint/writing on fenders and bumpers. I underestimated the strength of the paint (it appears to be standard automotive paint) and attacked a single character for over 45 minutes with a claybar and had only minimal effect. I know that a paint job is inevitable but until then I would like to get the JDM tyte letters off my front end. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try a pinstripe eraser wheel. It's basically a 5-inch disc-shaped beige rubber eraser that you chuck into a drill. You should be able to find one at any auto body & paint supply shop.

im one of the people that put junkyard paint on parts the easiest thing to use bar-none is brake fluid a couple of wipes and it comes right off

not to mention removing the clearcoat

well I used a credit card. It is semi slow but you can get a decent amount done in 45 minutes. i find it works better when you wipe water over the spot every so often.
