where to buy tie rods

Just wondering where the best place is to get replacement tie rods?
I dont mind oem inners & outers if theyre cheap enough.

otherwise aftermarket ones?

Also, how do they claim you get a higher steering angle? The angle is set by the ammount that the rack moves. any difference in length of a tie rod would simply give you strange toe angles?

I got my MOOG inner tie rods and ball joints here:

the price was really decent...not to mention that finding places that sell MOOG isn't that easy (all the local parts stores sell their own brands or were sold out). The parts shipped really quickly also.

Aftermarket tierods usually come with a spacer (8mm, I believe). It goes in between the inner tierod and the rack. Since the inner tierod is what stops the rack when you hit lock, you extend it's travel by 8mm.

You could probly do the same with a stock rod if you had the spacer, but you are playing with your life there. The aftermarket ones have more threads.

do many people have problems with clearance?
im already running a 12mm spacer

I have some 205/60 Blizzaks on my stock wheels and they rubbed at full counter with my suspension fully compressed. Rubbed in some other wierd position once, but that was only once.

It is the tires though, on all my other tires never had a problem.

crawl under your car and look at the tie rod

if you rub at full counter, then you need more caster/hammer in some chassis stuff.
if you drift you already done such anyways. its kinda required. rubbing sucks.
