Just installed the vlsd into my stock diff housing. the car rolls and drives fine but a loud knocking noise comes from what sounds like the diff. only during deceleration and in every gear. i used the same ring gear as was in the car before working fine. im going to try turning the drive shaft one bolt space at a time and see if the knocking continues. any other ideas?

Was a bad ring gear.

Do not use s13 pumpkin!! The ring gears look the same as the s14 but there are small differences. Just get an S14 pumpkin and swap the back covers thats all you have to do. Even if the s14 pumpkin is for abs it will fit. The driveshaft will take up the slack.
