So I want to buy this 240.. sr20 big turbo etc

1995 240sx SE
SR20det blacktop notch
5 speed manual
big turbo with a full greddy kit
tien coil overs
some kind of nice rims, forgot
WHOLE s15 front conversion, tal lights, hood etc
Full exhaust
K&N filters all around
300zx calipers
HIDs
Full passive alarm
double dim stereo
Clean paint job

Hes selling it for ONLY 5000$.

Does anyone know whats wrong with it? These are the symptoms:

Says all it needs is a tune, car randomly starts shaking or not getting full power as I drive in first gear.

So from 1000RPM to like 4000RPM its ok then past that its like its losing power or not getting enough then it stalls a bit and picks up till 7000.

When it shifts it grinds a lot in 1-2 gear and 4-5th.

There is also a grinding in the back right side of the vehicle, could that be a stuck caliper or a bad coilover? Its a GRRRPGRRPGRRP not just a GRRRRRRRRRRRRR grind.

There seems to be a baby differential leak also, if it helps.

"So I want to buy this 240" is your title.

Sounds to me like you don't own it and that you plan on buying it. However, you're asking people in the Tech subforum to help you figure out what is wrong.

Which brings me back to "are you not old enough to make your own decisions...?" and I was hoping that you got what I was implying: "Do you not know how to diagnose or check mechanical problems? Do you not hold the capability of doing your own research? If not, why not take it to a shop and see if it's worth $5,000"

And that brings me back to "are you not old enough to make your own decisions...?" without the help of others spoonfeeding you answers?

Crying me a damn river. Do you also like being spoonfed like the rest of this noobs on this forum? Helping =/= Being spoonfed info that can be found using researching tools.

Not even sure why you want to accuse me of not helping. Did I not tell OP to do his own research. Did I not tell OP to go find a mechanic to help him out?

Based on the OP's 6 post on this forum, he has a slight idea of what could be wrong but hasn't seen the car himself. We could all very easily point things out like injectors being clogged or failing, fuel pump failing or being the wrong size, ECU fried or not even the right ECU, wiring gremlins, brake line kinks or leaks, calipers seized, subframe bushing rotting, may needing a new transmission but where's that going to get OP if he hasn't started looking at shit himself?

Nobody else has seen the car on this forum. And if the owner of the car is on this forum, he sure hasn't stepped forth and said anything. So how in the world can we find out what is wrong with the car without physically seeing it ourselves? OP sure hasn't done the investigating himself.

I don't understand people like you trying to save the noobs that simply do not use the tools of this forum and google or even taking it to a mechanic's shop to help further the investigation.

And fwiw, you can go through my posts, a lot of its content does include "helping" other members out. But always bitching about spoon feeding.

Tell him to get it tuned and you'd pay for it if it solves the problems then.

The reason it is cheap is because it is fooked, simply.

I replied to your other thread, only found this to see why you were pinked.

Anyway, don't buy this car. That is all I have to say.

For $5k you can find better stuff, this thing sounds beaten and broken. No ECU listing, no injector size, no tune but a big turbo (what turbo?define big?), trans sounds f'd, grinding could be a bearing or fender rub or any number of things. Sounds like a money pit being passed to someone else.

Lastly, big turbo with greddy kit. What does that even mean..... they have a greddy manifold with a random big turbo attached to it? I don't know of a greddy kit that doesn't come with a turbo, let alone isn't their larger turbo kit setup like $5k to begin with? Which this car clearly does not have.
