scariest driving experience EVER

so i was driving to my gf's house at about 11pm in the rain/sleet and i was just exiting
a traffic circle on the outside lane doing about 40km to 45 km
and my drivers side rear blew (which is only about a half year worn)
so my car started to slide into the right hand lane pretty hard. there was a
boulavard with tree's and a fire hydrant so i had to counter steer pretty hard to avoid bashing up the whole left side of my car. anyways i did the best i
could in the conditions and hit the curb pretty hard which blew out my passenger rear tire and i proceeded into oncoming traffic sideways. which was soo bad just cause there was a bike in front of me heading for a head on
collision. i had both feet on the binders hitting them as hard as i possible could then i realized that we were gonna hit head on if i didnt do something. so i decided to realease my brakes and fling my back end out in the other direction to avoid hitting this guy on the bike. anyways he missed by rear end by about under a foot or so. but i suffered another curb beating on the other side. I was soo glad that i didnt hit the guy on the bike. so suffering two bent rims and two flat tires is alright with me. i was sooo shakin up by it all and just had to let it out.

sorry about the long run on sentance and bad spelling.

check out my avatar :P

Happned on the 22 east in feburary going to super autobacs to check shit out after school and possibly pickup some spacers and exhaust gaskets. Anyways some asian bitch decided to pull out of her lane last minute while I was in her blind spot because she was going to hit the car in front of her. But guess who she hit She hit it in a way that also caused my passenger side spl t/c rod to snap and blow out my tire at the same time. So my ass decides to slide out too. I regain control and avoid other cars the best possible way while trying to pullover. Crazy shiz man. All my plans were fucking flushed right down the fucking drain as far my engine swap goes. Using the money to pick up another Black base model s14 next week. Getting a lawyer next week because Insurance is taking thier sweet fucking time and I want my motherfucking money man!

A semi truck hit my back passenger side bumper, and it caused me to do 3 360's, and then he T-Boned me. It was also pouring ass rain outside.

Coming home on the touge, in freezing (litterally) rain, with no defroster, almost nonfunctional headlights, no heat, and crummy tires that offered no traction.

driving home from magic mountain. on the 215 like maybe 5miles from home. doin about 70 in #2 lane got a honda civic coupe full of friends 2 in the back one up front. i notice this dodge stratus coming up quick behind me. bone head dodge owner doesnt move to pass me using fast lane but hits me in the rear doin at least 100+ (when i wuz hit my speedo jumped up to near 95) some way, some how, my rear end is sitting on his front end. he swerves to the left causing my rear end to fishtail out. at 70 or so im nearly sideways, i notice the car sliding over to the embankment. spinning prolly twice the car hits embankment and takes out a lightpole. this tears off the trunk of the car. spinning unknown times the car is sliding along the edge of the freeway and stops. we climb out to make sure we are ok. not even a minute later a semi hits the front of the car, cutting the car in 2 and tossing the engine a hundred or more feet. wuts worse. stratus owner speeds off. no serious injuries, just scratches and a destroyed love of my life. that was my first civic.

my friend was showing us a downhill twisty in his 2004 civic. i trusted him as he's actually a very good driver and has been driving this road for the better part of 8 years (in an astrovan no less). well it turned out he wasn't very good at controlling FF yet and on the LAST corner of the road he lost control. its basically a right hand sweeper coming off a sharp left /w a crest. i suppose going over the crest the already light rear end got even lighter and the car snap oversteered. we were facing the inside of the right when he overcorrected and the car snapped left. the left side of the road is a straight drop down a hill... so that was the scariest moment. he overcorrected again and the car spun right before we went into a small ditch.

total damages - bent bumper support cross member, slightly damanged radiator, crushed the inside of the bumper. otherwise the car was fine. lucky.

Hah, just yesterday when my brother suddenly tried to salem test the old jolopy '90 Thunderbird, going up a bridge! Holy shit, I thought we were going to hit the side wall and flip off the bridge.

I'm never riding with that bastard again, until he gets his Prelude running! 7 months of driving that rust-bucket must be getting to him

Well...Heres my story. It was about 12:00PM at night and was VERY rainy. My mom was driving her explorer and we had a car full. I was in the middle back seat. We were going down a 2 lane road (which was rather curvey, but we were just before a hard left turn - about 100ft) at about 50mph when a deer runs out in front of us. My mom slams on the brakes and turns hard right (idiot) trying to avoid the deer. The car slid but when she finally straightened it up, we went straight into the high embankment after the left turn. We came to a DEAD stop. My seatbelt ~BROKE~ and I flew head-first into the windshield. Luckily I was not seriously injured. They said the seatbelt broke because the bolts on the recieving end of the assembly were loose. The company said this was not a defect and occured due to the age of the car, since its a 95 I believe. Everyone was fine, but damn it hurts hitting a windshiled headon at like 40mph. I don't know how i came out wihtout serious injury (just a concussion) but thank god for it, that could have killed me. This happened on my 16 birthday too! It happened so fast I can't remember everything. Thats my first and only real car accident.

i was out on a tougue, kinda half-assed drifting trying to get used my new vlsd. i had my friend watching the corners to make sure no one was coming (all the right corners were blind, but the left ones were easy to see). well, i was apexing on this left corner, and suddenly there were these two bicyles RIGHT in front of me, so i let off the gas and started curving right then had to swing left again to avoid the wall. i looked back and expected one of the bikes to yell "ASSHOLE!!!" but they kept ridin like nothin happened. so i learned my lesson about driving on the touge: honk your horn before you go around a corner!

crazy !!!!
so many close call stories.
after mine it took me about a day
to finally get over the fact i almost
killed a biker.
but in sight of it all I realized that
in bad conditions you dont have
much control over anything even
if your the best driver there ever was

My daily driver.. Thank god it wasnt my 240 or i wouldnt be here right now..

I was driving home and hit black ice. Hit a ditch head on. By the marks and witnesses, I got airborn about 20 feet and landed on the drivers side corner, apparetly being completey vertical in the air, then the car flipped agian onto the truck and over a 5 foot high pole, then landed ont he side, and rolled over 2 more times, landed on the roof and landed down a hill. I had JUST took my seat belt off to put my coat on.. I hadnt put i back on yet. I walked away with no cuts. Just sore from the airbage hitting me and getting bounced around..

understeering into a mountain side last year.. got off coarse and poped the car into the air pretty good.. didnt know it popped my belts off from landing.. luckily i was able to finish teh run, then on my way home on teh freeway, car starts to die cuz no altenator, call tow truck, way out of my free miles tow, so he was like "ill charge ur battery and u jus run the freeway like a mad man with no lights on" so i did that, u ever run on teh freeway with no lights on?? its freaking scary!! made it a block away from my house.. then teh car died so i towed it.

Recently- drifting into a curb (yesterday).. I had it too, was a 90degree curve and I had it (im pretty good at open diff), but I was owned by the dreaded open diff fishtail counter, I hit the curb with my car being parellal and popped the right half of teh car onto a big ass curb, got lucky nothing was damaged, only blew front tire, bent fender, and more abuse on the zenki lip.... Was a trip since my car is really low, was worried how I was gonna get if off the curb...

lotsa rain, bald rear tires, following my dad at 85 mph on pennsly turnpike, he was hauling up a hill, hit a large spot of standing water, open diff and hydroplaning meant one tire start going real fast, hit pavement, caught, car went sideways, all I could see was center barrier, overcorrect, all I could see was a horse trailer next to me in the slow lane. I backed off and straightened it out, shaking and scared. My dad was oblivious and finally pulled over after I was flashing my lights and honking... I was shaking so bad I almost fell when I got out of the car.

well here is mine.. i was driving out to california from nj... and i just hit mapquest and went on my merry way.. all was good...
mind you i drove cross country on basically slicks.... well anyways i end up going through denver colorado.. in early november late october.. whenever sema was. well anyways.. i am driving through these canyons and guess what it is SNOwinG.. Well guess what!!! NO FREAKING WINDSHIELD WIPERS... anyways there is the salt and slush... and i am like driving 10 mph in a car loaded with all my worldly possesions.. not much considering i had like 4 tires with me too... well anyways... slick + snow + slush + Curvy road + me sticking head out window = CRAp... well somewhere down the line.. my car oversteers... and basically at a turn i was like oh crap! but i catch it and keep going.. then the next turn down the road i almost understeer off the rocky mountains... Whew saved it.. I Thought i was in the clear but then i was driving 20 mph and it started snowing again and up comes a turn... i try to slow down but my brakes dont do anything.. literally i touched the brake with no pressure and the wheels were locked up.. i was like crap!!! well i ran off the road and fell into a ditch... lucky for me it was just a ditch and not a freaking cliff.. WHEW! that is my story... oh yeah the ats 2 way lsd got me out of the ditch with ease.. also... i totally ruined my front bumper that day dang fiberglass..

Driving home from NJ to CO, just bought a 89 Coupe. Passanger window was duct taped but still open some. Driving on I-80 @ 3am (started driving at 10am) @ 75mph-ish. Bad Tires, bad alaignment, HEAVY rain, passing simi's would cause the 240 to go all over the road... thought I was gonna die.

Funny how this thread started out as a guy telling a story and was automatically converted to a "tell your story" thread.
Heres mine, Late january, route 70 South towards DC, white-out snow blizzard, roads are covered. The only way to tell where the highway went was by looking at 2 tire tracks worn into the snow in the right lane. What few cars are on the road are going about 25 mph. Im PASSING people at 65+ mph in the left lane. Snow tires are at the limit of traction and i take the time to explain drifting to my girl who's in the passenger seat. After a couple of minutes we come up on a big bend, downhill and the rear end starts getting real loose, its been wagging for a while, but this time it was like choku-dori (whatever the name is for straight line drift) chasing the rear end trying to keep the car going straight.
We could have flown off of the road at any second and it was mildly scary.

Even more scary but less interesting is when we installed my coilovers/ tc rods/ subframe spacers/ wheels and tires, i was showing off and when returning from my test drive, i pull into the parking lot and jam the brakes. Well the tires locked up and i almost understeered right into a dumpster. That was 2 months ago and the tire marks are still there.

driving home in my crx from big bear on the 330, passing lane opens up so i jump over and gun it, pass every car except one, so i start pushing my car a little more to pass one last guy, right as i pass him i see a turn come up, and im doing about 75mph, hit the brakes real hard and try to take the turn, comming in way too hot, car starts to understeer, so i grab the e-brake, tail comes out, counter steer to a full opposite lock and slide out of the turn, then watch the headlights behind me fade, as all the cars back off.

Few months ago, driving up the 15n at 75 on the fast lane in heavy rain. Suddenly the rear end just pops out to the left and went sideways into the next fast lane. while sliding sideways at 70, a chevy astro in the next lane slams into my passenger door and pushes me out for 3 full 360's, on the 4th 360 i finally got traction on the front tires and guided it to the emergency lane facing traffic. Scary and very education at the sametime.

me - broken pass. door
him - my paint on his metal bumper (i scratched it off before we left)

went to a party and handed over my keys because I was planning to drink. DRANK way too much to drive home to begin with. Decided I had enough of the party and I laid down next thing you know I'm in the car doing 75 down the interstate but thats not the scary part no. I looked to my left and I saw MY G/F was driving my car. I'm telling you that was my most sobering moment EVER.

My buddy Jon was driving his sisters maxima and we saw some hs friends in a red mr2. They call each other and decide to go around a lake for some fun. first pass, the mr2 show's how a lowered mr can beat a sedan. second pass, Jon see's the mr2 go past him. So he guns it. I see the mr2 brake, Jon's still on the gas...I brace myself and Jon says oh shit. My other buddy Brian is still giggling like a school girl until he realizes that we're spinning out and he screams like Donkey Kong in mario kart. The thing I remember seeing is the world slowing down and Jon's strawberry boba drink flying across the car from the drivers side to the passengers streaking the windshield pink. The car hops the curb and the car comes to a stop. I'm never a passenger in his car anymore...especially since he bought a hachi and thinks he's takumi...
