getting more air to fmic and radiator..?

I just recently picked up a 91 s13 with redtop and

Koyo S13 Aluminum SR20 Radiator
and blitz LM FMIC

I have noticed the pignose really cuts off airflow across the fmic, maybe as much as 50%. And with that I also noticed that the cold side piping is still fairly hot after running the car (I have felt other FMIC piping where it felt cool to the touch after running...but maybe this just isnt true with sr20dets??)

What is the best way to get as much pressure on the face of that fmic as possible? I am not into gaudy stylings so I really don't want some crazy cwest nose or whatever....

Are there any good air diverters out there or any other tried and tested methods that work? Is the coupe nose a lot better for the FMIC?

Thanks for the help.

confused

so you have a 91 with a pignose front bumper? what happened to the chuki bumper? And what do you mean the coupe nose? it's same as yours...

Anyway, there are a few different solutions.
A.) some type of aftermarket bumper
B.) start cutting holes in your bumper (quite a few people on the forum have done it)
C.) get/make one of those cooling panels Ex: from RareTrick
D.) not more air flow, but it will defiantely cool things down Cusco Intercooler Sprayer
I'm sure there's other solutions out there....

Sorry, maybe I am just confused on what things are called (actually I think I meant to say would doing the silvia front conversion...and for some reason I thought the 240 coupe had the same front end). anyways, I have the stock front on a 91 240...

and today I actually think I felt heatsoak after cruising around at low speed for a while.

Do most people have heat problems with their sr20s? This car has front mount and the large radiator, I am kind of at a loss to why it runs so hot...but then I'm a newb.

Thanks for the help people, I am looking at those options and websites right now (and it that top secret bumper looks pretty good...kind of a stock feel but with a huge opening...just what I'm looking for besides in price ..haha)

oh and I meant no harm to c west, its just the first body kit name that popped into my head ( I dont know many). This is the kind of thing I dont want: http://www.raretrick.com/store/image...951_detail.jpg

I had a similar problem: I wasn't getting enough air to the radiator. Got a vent customized in my bumper.

just cut out the 'nostrils' in the pig nose, get a vented hood and one of the cooling panels that timanator posted.

if you are talking about the silvia front end, the stock grill is solid but there are lots of aftermarket ones that are open. that would help, but you would have to switch out your whole front end.

my cold pipe stays pretty cool with a front mount and stock radiator.i'm running 16psi on a S15 turbo.my IC isn't as tall as most.the core happens to be the same size as the opening in my jun bumper.i think that has alot to do with it.if half the core is above the opening in the bumper then it's not going to get the full benefit of being mounted in direct airflow(duh).
