Ok guys. I know I'm going to a lot of crap for this but I have searched and searched and keep confusing myself. What trannys come with a ka24de? I've been told a fs5w71c and a fa5w71h. Which one is it. I know the differences between a ka and sr trans. Is the rebuild kit the same for both of them giving that 5th gear is different? I'm going to attempt to rebuild my first trans and need a little guidance.... Thanks

Why don't we start off with the trans you have? Is it a KA OR an SR transmission? You're only changing bearings and synchros so it shouldn't matter that the 5th gear is different. The gears are interchangeable between transmissions anyway. The KA 5th gear will give you lower cruising rpms in OD.

The transmissions are the FS5W71C

I have a ka trans. What's the difference between the fs5w71c and h? Every rebuild website I look at says a 2.4lt 240sx has the fs5w71h?
