![]() So recently this week my car has been over boosting like crazy after a certain rpm.
Example I'll be doing a 3rd gear pull it holds strong at 12psi until about 5k then it creeps up to about 17 psi while loosing power and then spits at me. I have AEM trubooost and I have tested it with the boost controller off and on and the result is the same. Feels powerful then hits a certain RPM 5k and above and then over revs feel like a loss of power and spits. I changed spark plugs not too long ago, I checked boost leaks and fixed them, I haven't changed the fuel filter since I bought the car a year and a half ago although I doubt that would cause any sort of over boost. I don't think it would be the actuator only because it sits withought any boost controller at 8-9psi and with truboost at 12 psi so it works until a certain point. Any help would be much appreciated |

Your ignition timing is too much retarded and/or the mixture is too lean for the timing you run. It produces lots heat and boost but no power.
Buy a wideband AFR and EGT gauges and sensors to detect that kind of troubes in the future, and fix that before you melt something (i.e do NOT use the car until it is fixed, you can melt something without boosting in that condition) |
