My BoX of Questions help here

I have an s13 coupe and am doing a RB20DET swap

1. Will a harbor freight hoist be enough to hoist in the full rb20det swap over the radiator support??

2. Where is a good tie on location on to hoist the motor in

3. Is the cable on the 5 speed transmission for a speed sensor? how hard is that to fix, do i need it, will it mess with the ECU?

4. I have most of the wiring my s13 chassis harness is chewed up and cant tell if it is a hatch or Vert harness ..
this is going to take for ever and ever...
i do not have any friends to help me on this at the moment and Facebook just sucks so any help please Thanks

1) Yes, but the 2 ton is bigger and only $20-30 difference.
2) Dunno.
3) See 4
4) Buy a wiring specialties harness. Seriously. The time and effort is worth his price, plus it's one less thing to have to trouble shoot. He makes a trans (lower harness too).

If you're missing the factory pick-up brackets, you can use a tow strap and hook up to the #1 runner on the intake manifold and the #6 runner on the exhaust manifold. Always use a load leveler when pulling or installing engines. It's much easier.

Stupid question maybe but i have to ask ... why an rb20 ?

The only thing they have for them is they sound "better" than any other available 4 pots. They are crap in every other aspect. Heavy, long, not much torque down low, not much power potential either, the GB is as bad if not worse than the 4 pots ... I mostly don't like japanese 6bangers because they are long and heavy, but i do understand people going for a 2.5 / 2.6 / 3L cylinder engine : they want more power, as the expense of a lot of fab to get a correct weight distribution, or they just want more power and don't care about handling.

but an rb20 ? why ?

1.i got an RB20det cause people want me to buy a stock blown KA or Sr for the same price
RB has a turbo any way and i want to drift with low torque and not much power after im done i wolnt be able to afford and internal stuff right now

2. this is my 3 swap and all i have has was Ka i want something kind of bigger and different V8 i had one in my truck so no thanks on that.

3. one day when the time comes i may go for more power and upgrade some of the internals who knows what the future may bring i cant see into the future but i may find an rb25 since the mounts i have can do both really
4.any other 6 cylinder finding the transmission would be difficult i dont have that much time money on my plate i am still baby stepping it with an RB20DET sir

Just remember that there is no replacement for displacement

Ok, its true, the KA is not the go-to engine, despite it looking hefty in the displacement dept.

It all comes down to budget really, acceptable swaps that are well noteworthy and simple, are the 2jz, sr20, and LSx

with the sr20 being the simplest, quickest (less than 20 hours from sitting on the ground to running/driving) 250-350 horsepower tolerant

2jz being the next simplest, stock engine, single turbo, you pay to wedge it in there but it will support 380-480rwhp the way an sr20 supports 300 (easily).

Lsx being the, "I'm bored, lets make some noise" option, best saved for last and deeper pockets and more time spent burning fingers checking plugs. Lighter than a 2jz but overall similar output numbers on stock internals is possible.
