Questions about 2jzgte 240sx swap

Hey guys. This is my first post!

In March 2015 I bought my first sports car, a 97 Miata 1.8. I bought it so I could use it to work on to learn how to work on cars. I've replaced everything on the car except the block, including pulling the engine+tranny to do the clutch.

Now that I've done everything maintenance wise to it and I have wheels/tires/coilovers on the way, I want to start saving for my next project. I'm thinking drag car. Crazy drag car. But not a trailer queen, I want to be able to drive it on the street too.

I've always loved the MK4 Supras but I'm not made of gold so I am thinking about doing a 2j 240! I want it to be at least a 10 second car.

My main questions are:

Are the Aristo 2jzgte engines as bullet proof as the "normal" ones?

What transmission should I use for my power goals? My goal will be from 500 - 700 whp. I've been researching all day today and I've come across the R154, V160, T56, and then the CD009. I've read some threads that say the R154 will last with 700whp and then some people say they are glass....

What is a realistic budget I should look at for this project? I'm doing all the work myself. I'm hoping 15K USD or less...

I will no doubt think of other questions but this is what I can think of right now. I'm mainly just worried about the transmission and the rear end handling the power.

If you all don't roast the hell out of me, thanks!

And yes I am reading this thread for the 10th time today
