Stance vs SPL Arm Package

I'm in the process of planning my suspension refresh. My build will mainly be a street / dd car. Which arm package would you recommend? The Stance or SPL?

SPL Arm Package - $1049.00

When it comes to the arms the most important factor is the rod ends. SPL is the only thing I use on my car. They use FK rod ends.

1+ for FK Rod Ends. Saw there stuff at SEMA and spoke to their reps - top notch stuff. Once you go to SEMA you really see how the market is:

1. China made - China QA (or none at all)
2. China made - US QA
3. US made - US QA FK (Rod Ends)

I have all SPL arms on my car and they are great, but I do DD and road race the car quite often.

If I was in your shoes and doing a refresh for a Stree/DD car, I'd look into SPC Performance pieces. Great arms that are fully adjustable and maintain the rubber bushings.

I think this is why. A lot of people don't like to daily their cars with extremely solid suspension, so the rubbers helps in the daily perspective of it.

This is good to know about. I have shitty godspeed arms on my car and having those bumps me into a higher class in SCCA solo. Kinda stupid that just having those bumps me into the class that is full of supercharged mustangs. I don't think my stock ka will hang with them.

DRFT180 why do you recommend the SPC arms when you run SPL arms? Before making this post I was leaning towards SPL but just wanted to see if anyone had any other recommendations

CompleteXen is correct. If the car I was building wasn't going to see a track, but be a fun street/daily driven car, I'd opt for adjustable arms that still have the rubber bushing in order to keep the NVH levels down.

On the + side for SPC, the toe arms look to have a bit of subframe clearence for lowered cars. :thumbup:

Stance arms use Aurora metric rod ends. Nice metric rod ends are twice (or more) the price of a standard rod end that SPL uses.

just beware if you order SPC tension rods. the bushings tend to shit the bed on a regular basis. we installed a set for a customer on a stock vert with just springs and shocks, a total daily, never track driven, and the bushings were cracked within 2 months. SPC fought us a long time before they agreed to warranty em.

Solid joints will make your ride a lot harsher but you'll get better response. I didn't really care until I got old lol

Always wondered which arms cause the most "harshness", and perhaps have rubber/ poly & rod end suspension combo.

Prices for GKtech toe arms aren't bad.

Diff and subframe bushes maybe, but less friction in the control arms makes the shock do the work, and makes the car ride better. Sure there is a tiny bit more vibration and noise, but the tradeoff is worth it if you're looking for performance IMO.

What about Nismo arms? I always see those floating around and they look to have rubber bushings.Anyone have input on those?

Just get the ES Bushing replacements. The Nismo ones just use firmer rubber.

Do you grease the ES bushings often?

I'm running factory s14 RLCA with new ball joints and I keep wondering what to do about the inner joints. ES seems to be the only option. Besides aftermarket.

I always worry about stiction with ES joints.

Iirc black ES bushings lubricate themselves because they're graphite infused. The red ones need lubrication. They look cooler tho lol

Correct. I am looking at the packages from 240sx motoring. I haven't looked into the RLCA and FLCA yet.

You be surprised....Also the Godspeed arms themselves are not all that bad...it's the rod ends that really matter and you can replace those with QA-1 ends and attain SPC quality for a fraction of the price...

I would be a little careful before going that route. My car came with Godspeed upper control arms and when doing an s14 subframe swap I discovered a huge crack at the outer weld point.

This is the reason why I'm running factory arms till I get some quality stuff.
