If you can deal with a real loud exhaust then thats the biggest problem IMHO.

Although since you have a small 4 banger NA you will lose lots of backpressure and the result will be less tourqe and HP at the low end.

Right on the money WeST. I run the 3" Apex cat-back, and it is LOUD. But I really don't feel like I've lost any torque on the KA. The KA is so known for torque, I figured I could flow better, and not miss the torque. I don't see a difference at all personally... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

West was right...
And arn't Turbo Exhausts set for the emissions from a turbo or wtv?
Anyways...that don't matter...U can just buy a silencer for the loud sound and have it installd...like, 50 bucks alltogether for that.
I personally like that loud sound...so sexy
if they make a Turbo Exhaust...they usually have a N/A one that's pretty similar.

The idea behind a turbo exhaust is to get the air out of the car as quickly as possible, that's why they have such large pipes. An NA car typically gets better performance out of the right sized pipe, and it's not really due to backpressure. The column of air moving out the back helps to "suck" the air out of the combustion chamber during the exhaust cycle (sort of like a syphon). Higher velocity here can give better performance than sheer space. In addition, wider piping provides more room for turbulence, which prevents the exhaust from flowing as freely. It's not so much the size that counts, it's how it's made. As strait a pipe as you can get with consistent diameter is what you want for an NA car. For turbo, you just wanna get that shit out of there as quickly as possible.

Like misnomer said, backpressure doesn't produce torque or HP, and you want as little backpressure as possible, especially on our cars.

However pipes that big will cause less exhaust velocity and poor scaveging, which will cause a loss in mid range.

The APEXi N1 was designed for a turbo SR so it should be fine unless you intend to make some major boost on that thing.

Hey! &nbsp;I completely agree with misnomer! &nbsp;GOOD ADVICE!

To reiterate, proper exhaust tubing diameter and length produces scavaging effects due to the gas inertia (sucks out exhaust from combustion chamber)--daimeter

and low pressure wave effects doe to resonating exhaust pulses--length
