Are you sure that's a S15 diff?

The final drive is a dead give away (47/12 = 3.9). S15 diff is 3.69
Also it look like a vlsd from a quick glance

yes 6 Bolt Side Flange and s15 written in yellow. i bought it off jdm engine world. vlsd? can you please tell me to identify?

Just because it's written in yellow doesn't mean it's a S15 diff.

I can write Ferrari on a corolla and that doesn't make it s Ferrari. None of the identifying features match up (with the FD and the diff itself not matching up )

I could be wrong but signs are showing otherwise....

aight you might be right. but i know its s15 silvia rear diff. my boy has s15 silvia and r32 GTR.

Remove the half shaft and count the splines. If not 30.it's not a S15.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is not a s15 diff

6 bolt flange means nothing. Standard VLSD came with 6 bolt flanges

That's an S15 VLSD from an auto car. Auto turbo final drive is 3.9.

Manual turbo S15 cars got the HLSD with 3.69 final gears.

So this is an S15 diff, just not the HLSD that most people think about.

It's basically the same thing as a J30 diff, but newer.

That's a VLSD from an S15. All S15 HLSD's came with the 3.692 (48:13) ratio. Not saying gear swaps don't happen but you can even tell from the chunk itself it is a 100% a VLSD unit.
