Knocking noise everytime engine shakes.

I am getting this knocking noise when the engine shakes. For example when i start the car up it knocks as if something is knocking against the bottom of the car. i also get this noise when i hit bumps in the road. Does anyone know what is causing this?
BTW its a 93 fastback if that helps

Thanks

one of your mounts could be blown... or might have accidentally left a tool in your bay... or something came loose... check your bay for anything that looks like it shouldnt be there or shouldnt be that way...

i had this problem in my 90 VW corrado, and i found out the the bolts to my front engine mount were all gone...
