subframe bushings

Im swapping an s13 VLSD into my s14, I have some pulyurethane bushings for the subframe mount but I cant get the old bushings out. I got half of them out, the only thing left in there is the outer metal ring, its stuck in there good and i CANT get it out, i tried using an air hammer and it wont budge. Anyone have any ideas?

You might try a sawzall or band saw and cut completely a strip through the metal ring and then use the air hammer to push it out. Thats what I had to do with a motor mount in my old dsm.

Hey man... just wanted to wish you good luck with getting the old bushings out.

Don't forget to put the ES bushings in the freezer overnight -- they'll shrink considerably and you can push them into your subframe by hand once you get the old ones out.
