I went to a local shop today and got a price check on some parts. He said he could get me Kyb Agx and Hks super form springs for my s13 for a little under $700. so what i want to know is am i getting ripped off? or is it a deal? oh and how are the hks springs anyways?

well... &nbsp;if thats installed then it would be OKAY.. &nbsp;

620 - 670 would be a better price on those..

price breakdown

370 - shocks

250 - springs

620 total with installation. &nbsp;there you go..

I didn't think about install. If that price (a little under $700) is installed then its probably not too bad. Still I'd order it online and just buy the tools (spring compresser and other) to do it yourself...thats half the fun anyway IMO.

Some, if not most, small shops are fairly open to deals and haggling. Just talk 'em down and tell them you'll pay in cash (if you got it). &nbsp;HKS super form springs aren't that special, well, not enough for the extra cost. &nbsp;You're just paying for the name and that's pretty ass. &nbsp;Just stick with Eibachs or H&R's.

Now that i think about it the springs were H&R. anyways i will call him and see what is up with the price. The thing is that he is selling me all four springs for 200 even, but the shocks are going to be around 540. let just hope that cost comes with installation. Oh and the H&R only drop the car 1.3 all around. Thats not much of a drop on a s13. Still leaves a nasty gap between the wheel well and the tire.

I would probably buy the parts online and take them to a local shop and have them put on. I have noticed if you go to some little no name muffler shop with performance parts they get all excited cause they never get to do coo shit like that. They usually do a good job for cheap.... but I normally do my own work so I could be wrong... &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':crazy:'>

If they can install everything for that price, then its a good deal. Parts alone your getting screwed..

In fact, they are in essence bending you over and..well you the point...

i messed up, i thought you were only gettin shocks......my shocks were 400 shipped, so that's why i thought you were gettin screwed. if you're gettin both shocks and springs i don't think it's that far off, although a little pricey. if they installed for you it would be a decent deal.
