ka24e: not starting? ran fine 20min ago

ok i started her up bout 20min ago and she started right up no probs. well she was runnin a lil rich for somereason. i smelled alot of gas. but besides that was kew, anyway i go to move her again and bam nuthin just crankin but no fire, so i checked fuel, shes definitly gettin fuel. i check spark, coil is good and every plug wire's gotlots of spark. now what? what would cause her not to start, bad plugs maybe? anything else i might wanna look at? also, i have a spare dohc motor layin round with new plugs. can i take outta dohc and put in sohc to see if she will start? Are they the same? thanx

not sure how u checked the gas situation, but pull a line off ur fuel filter, crank...and watch for sprayage. I somehow doubt that all 4 spark plugs shot craps that bad ...all at once. Especially since the car didn't *die*, I'm assuming u just shut it off. If your POSITIVE ur gettin spark, check and see if your injectors are working properly. ...check timing? ...check codes? ...hopefully some1 else will be abit smarter about this then me.

My car did the same...change coolant temp sensor. It will start when it's cold..like cold cold. not 20 minutes cold but like 3 hours cold. If yours does the same the car could be spraying to much gas during startup. You could try holding the gas pedal all the way down during cranking to clear a possible flood

when i checked fuel i pulled fuel line off and put in a bottle, turned key heard pump and sprayed lots of gas into bottle, spark? well pulled one plug wire off at a time starting with the coil, put a screw driver in wire places next to strut tower, turned key saw lots of spark on every wire so i know i am gettin spark, and when i started it and ran the first time i let it run for 15 or min to get to operation temp then shut off. now she just dont want to start, well when i pulled the first plug wire off and sparked she actually tried to turnover for a sec, then stalled and never got it again. by the way anyone know if dohc plugs are the same and or fit sohc so i can switch out tommorrow thanx

like said before.. let it cool for hours.. atleast 3 hours.. maybe even longer.. just try it in the morning.. if it starts.. try checking the fuel temp sensor or the coolent temp sensor.. i'm sure they are not expensive parts to replace. i'm not sure what the ka24 engine has, but there might be two coolent temp sensors.. i assume its the one for the ecu thats messing up..
