remote battery mount fuse

well after searching for a normal 4ga-4ga connector I ended up having to buy a 4ga-fuse connector for like a stereo. so yeah its got a fuse in it, the fuse it came with is 80amp and because the stock fusible link is 75a I figured this would work fine. is my thinking correct there or do fusible link amperes work different than fuses? thanks

Why not bigger?
Bigger is better.

A fuse is a fuse. Just that there are different kinds.

yeah I didn't know if fusible links and normal blade fuses worked in the same way. so considering the 80a is bigger than the 75a that's also inline it should be fine right?
and 4ga will be more than enough for my car, no a/c, no radio, etc.

Gauge will depend on distance between battery and starte/alternator AND amperage.
the longer the distance and higher the amperage, the thicker the wire you want to use.
