Right now everytime a brake I hear a sqeaky sound and at the end of it I hear something gashing something aroung there. Anyone know what else It could be? The rotor looks preety smooth to me but the mechanic said I should resurface it so I dont know right now. Anyhelp would be appreciated

most brake pad sets have "wear indicators" built into the compound. it's usually a piece of copper or brass (?) embedded in the pad near the end of its usable material, and it will make a squealling/scratching noise to let u know its time to change ur pads . u should get ur rotors resurfaced when u change pads, cuz they do get glazed with use. u don't have to.....but highly recommended
hope that helps!
