Noisy suspension - need bump stop or coil insulator?
Hi, I have a S13 with AGX and Eibach Prokits. The ride and handling is great, but the suspension is making a lot of noise. Doing a search, some people say that using the bump stop from the factory coils should keep it quiet. But since someone else did the install, I don't know if they guy put them on. So should I see about get OEM bump stops or use coil spring insulators from PDM? which would be quieter?
whadda ya think? |

can u describe the noise? AGXs are kinda noise on their own, just with the gases moving around. You can see if your bumpstops are in tehre just by looking... do you see a fat rubber doughnut somewhere on the shock shaft? you should be able to tell just by looking.

Hey Yoshi, I checked today while I was in the parking lot for Home Depot. There is a rubber cylinder on the strut shaft so I am thinking the bumpstops are there (sigh of relief

I also drive a Saab 900, and I know the 240 will never be as quiet without 100lbs of sound insulation. Nor do I want it to because the SR motor and Magnaflow muffler sounds so sweet! I hardly listen to the radio anymore. But the clanging of the springs and FMIC piping is ruining the symphony...
