Piston question!
Hey guys! I just bought my 89 coupe and a set of ross pistons came with the car as part of our deal. they are for the ka24e thats in the car. I am going to get a DE however to swap in as i want the dohc head for my build up...are the e and de pistons the same? In otehr words...can i use the ross e pistons in a de block or will i have issues? Thanks!

i'm not an engine man, but i did some hw, i recall that the OEM pistons on ka24e will not fit on ka24de, it's just a slight bit off. You have to sand it or something.

bottom end internals are swappable... yeah u can use those pistons..
rods and pistons.. not to sure about the crank... might want to go on KA-T.org.. to make sure for any other parts... u might want to round off those edges with a red scotch pad.... then polish or ceramic coat.. either or.. id stik with the 12v engines because u have so many of them... u can always do another build and swap in a prebuilt engine on the side . when ever the current one bites the dust... its all tuning, ppl are getting big HP gains from a stock bottom end.. buts its very sketchy... lots of tuning... is ideal when ur using the stock engine... deburr those rods, polish, shotpeen, knife edge the crank... find some rod bolt fastners... arp doesnt make em for the KA.. but they use the BBC rod bolts.. minor rod tweak have to be done in order for them to fit... but yeah go to ka-t.org its got lots of good facts....ppl there are very cool
