![]() Decideing on doing the redtop swap in my nonruning 93 240 or buying a already fast car with money saved. Just had couple questions before i make a choice. What exactly would it take to squeeze 200 whp out of redtop?
250 whp? 300 whp? and thats all, definetly wont be needing anymore than 300 whp. Thanks. |

You should be at 200+ stock, if you get a FMIC and turn your boost up to 14 you should be approaching 250hp, with a t28 you would definatly be able to get there, a 300zx maf and t28 with larger injectors running max boost should get you close to 300, a big28 instead of the t28 would take you above 300 easily. Obvioulsy youll need some type of management to account for larger injectors, and a fuel pump that can flow enough.

You can almost always buy a fast car for a lot less money than if you were to do it yourself and buy all the parts. It depends whether you take pride in doing things yourself or just want to go fast and not really caring about how it got there.

Although you do take a risk when purchasing a used car, it's like most used cars.. if you do your homework and check out the vehicle thoroughly, you can minimalize most of the risks. Decent SRs go for around 6k all the time. This is not the best example, but 240s like this go on ebay everyday. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6396 While it is no where near a show car, try to do that on 6k budget and I'm positive you will fall short. It's not as easy as it seems to just slap on a turbo.. and the original poster doesn't seem like an expert. There will definitely be delays and unexpected problems if he swaps it himself. Since you do have a late model S13, depending on the condition, it might be easier to just get a professional to swap in a SR if you can find a good deal. I would not recommend doing it yourself if you're on a budget or time constraint. That should achieve your 200-250 with simple bolt-ons. |

no theyre talking about buying an already modded out 240 with sr, instead of doing it themselves, Ive spent over 10 g on my car, and at the moment its on stock turbo (although new setup in the mail) and body looks like a bare to the bone 240, so yah trust me I could go on ebay and find the same damn thing for lower than 6 grand probably,

sorry, i was talking about wheel hp. 200 to 250 wheel hp sounds nice from a redtop. just wanted to know what was needed to acheive that. If its too much money or too complicated, i think i might end up getting a bike, like a 600 or something...
[EDIT] wouldent want to change the fuel magagement computer |
