Yes they will work. You have to switch the motor mounts.

yes they will work but keep in mind they are much stiffer and if you dont like your car to vibrate a little then you dont want them. I have them in my sr equipped s14 and at iddle my rear view mirror vibrates a bit, enough to distort vision through it.

i highly suggest that you save money and modify your stick mounts instead of getting the nismo ones. I actually have the nismo mounts. It was only after i had bought and installed them that I learned of filling them with urethane. I filled the mounts on my brother's car and his engine moves less than mine.
tube of window weld urethane is 12 dollars. Nismo ones are 175 or so. ![]() |

They work great. I installed the nismo engine and tranny mounts, now my steering wheel vibrates ever so slightly at idle, but that's it. Nismo mounts are harder rubber, while eurothane is much stiffer. Nismos are a good compromise between stock mounts and eurothane.
My shifter also moves MUCH LESS now. Good luck. Billy

Ah crap mine does that now, and I was thinking of getting nismo mounts. With those the wheel probably will fall off lol. Does yours make a sound? |

So, you can save quite a bit of money and fill right off the bat, or if you've picked up Nismo mounts, you can fill those. They will probably be a little stiffer than starting with stock mounts. People who can't handle a little vibration are => ![]() Also, I've contemplated welded motor mounts. It's awesome to see someone that actually did it. Totally awesome! Here's my motor mount swap page, hope it's handy for anyone interested: Nismo Motormount Install -Alex S.

Heh, you guys think those will make your steering wheel shake? Here are my motor mounts:
![]() For the record, the car is only driven once or twice a week. The only annoying part is at idle...just lots of vibration. Other than that, while cruising it's not a problem. -ryan |

as a side note, another trick is to go solid on one side, this allows some vibration movement but very little radial movement. |

Don't mean to thread jack, but...
while we're on topic... My sohc engine with 170K miles... When I bought the car, it didn't shake as much. As I put more miles on it... It started shaking more. That wasn't a problem. Then one day, when I engaged the clutch at my normal 1500RPM.... the car started shaking alot. To prevent this I either have to engage a bit faster, for less shaking... Or engage at higher RPM and faster. I feel the shifter shake a LOT when this shaking happens, and have a hunch that it's my transmission mount or my engine mounts. Do you guys think it would be my mounts? They look pretty old, but I haven't gotten to see them in depth. I'm wondering if I should try nismo mounts because I have to replace my front suspension crossmember anyways (the car's sitting on jacks).

damn crazy... solid motor mounts!!! motor mounts are made to give a lil for engine movement, and if it doesn't move it's bound to break.... i have nismo motor and tranny mount on my s13 sr20det... just get very lil vibration while at idle, i highly recommmend them and as 2JZGTE stated before my stick shift has very little movement now.....

shameless plug here , guys SyKo Garage is developing a set of Urethane motor mounts for KA and SR that will absolutely kick ass and not be ghetto stylie like they were made with a tube of urethane window sealant.
these are going to be the real deal mounts with nice colored urethane high quality studs.

I deSTROYED the stock mounts in less than a year. They had completely split in several places. I looked at several options, and one of the first options I turned down was ...paying $200+ for some "urethane" motor mounts. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with them, they just aren't worth 200 of my dollars when I can weld them myself.

1. pull them out
2. fully clean them 3. cake them over with 3m window weld. fill in the grooves. ive heard of people using other stuff on other forums. the more you use, the stiffer they'll be. so figure out how far you want to go. 4. "officially" it takes a week to cure. i think most let them dry a day or two and then put them back in. |
