On some Leaf blowers they have a perfectly round 3inch pipe. they also have a bend in it. the buy a 25 dollar APC filter and u have a Working cold air intake.

are you serious? use a pipe from a leaf blower? does the leaf blower have a KA24 engine that generates close to a 120 degree of heat and the pipe can stand it for a 5 hr higway drive @90mph?

i'd rather get the injen or something. But I haven't gotten one yet because I wanna move the battery to my trunk and relocate the filter in that place. do I really have to use a pipe from a leaf blower or is there a company out there that sells a custom intake?

i'm still trying to get better pics of the intake, that was taken at the SD meet by grant, there's a 3" piping that runs from the front of the bumpter vent, to the bottom of the intake , i'll post everything i used when i can find a place to upload it...

I found a K&N unit on ebay for $80. It was stainless, or painted chrome, and had a cone filter. It uses the stock routing, and places the filter in the same place. Not a true cai, but probably a nice for a few hp.
I hate the way the stock one is all square, and stupid looking. A custom one is probably easy, if you are handy at routing in the other lines along the intake track

there were quite a few ppl at the infiniticlub forum that had trouble with that intake from eBay. It wouldn't fit the '89-90 right and even the ones with '91-94 240sx had trouble installin it.
did you just but on it, or did you purchase and install it? did you have any trouble with that?

Sorry, no I was just parousing it. Looks quality, and for $80. Maybe it is a pita cause K&N does so many applications. They probably didnt go crazy doing R&D. u know?

Is the injen a true cai? Like with the filter in the fender well. Sorry for being such a newbie, but I tried a search, and had no luck.

Anyway, a lot of people try to make one from parts in a junkyard. Just by crowing intakes off cars. Some junked cars have aftermarket ones too. Just an idea.

What i thought to do was buy the K&N, and then put an elbow extension on with a plate for a filter in the fender by the resonator. That would be f'ing loud tho'
