Check these out
Handeling
Suspenstion

I think everybody upgrading suspension should have an understanding of exactly what their products will do for them. Reading these could help you decide what you want.

Two questions...
what is the car used for? Daily driver? Weekend car? Track car?
How much are you willing to spend?
I couldn't see anybody using 400-500+lb springs on a daily driven car...so assumeing its daily driven, I would stay under 400lbs for springs and remember to get the rear a bit softer (less weight to hold up...possably other reasons as well)
Koni's seem very hard to install if you plan on doing it yourself, and I've heard some shops don't even want to mess with it since they are just shock inserts. Also, you have to take them off to adjust them. I don't know about you but once I had mine on there I'd be to lazy to ever adjust them if I had to take them off to do it.
I'm not sure if they make them for the s13 but GAB super HP are supposed to be THE best shocks around, easily adjustable 8way front 4 way rear, but will set you back ~$700...you get what you pay for.
So if you got those shocks with the GC coilover's (~$400) you could have bought a tein coilover system with height adjustment like the GC coilovers and 16way dampening adjustment. If thats too much $$$ then most people who have KYB AGX shocks are happy with them.
Don't forget anti-roll bars either!

Ok here is my problem, im going to be driving my 91 240sx daily to and from work, because it is my only car, but I also want to use it for drifting. what shocks and springs should I use? Do you think easy adjustible shocks would be the way to go? what kind?

I got a large lump of cash so im not worried about money.
Also im running a s14 sr20 under the hood, sould I worry about front end weight?

Umm pics please! I want see!
From what I read on this forum yesterday, and I hope its correct, the SR only weighs 50lbs less than the ka. If thats not including extras then the weight of the innercooler, turbo, and piping will make their weights even closer. I'd say you don't want spring rates any different up front whether you have the ka or the sr, but assumeing you get something with height adjustability, you may have to lower the front a tiny (on the collar, not actual height) bit more than if you had the ka in order to have the same actual height.

I think if you have the money, get in on the Tein group buy. Everything 15% off the price listed on their Website. Even if the springs and height adjustability aren't any better than GC's (and I think they will be) the dampeners should be worth the extra money. Unfortionately I don't have a set of these myself yet but I don't think the type flex or HA would be too harsh for daily driving...they could be adjusted to be too harsh but I think you could keep them at a reasonable height and lighten the dampening and your ride would be bumpy but not too bad. I REALLY hope someone else comes in and gives some advice to...I don't want you to take what I say as fact. My240likenoother has GC coilovers and I think kyb agx shocks, he seems to be pleased with them. Maybe send him a PM if he doesn't respond in this thread? One advantage to kyb agx shocks with GC coilovers (really just eibach springs with custom rates on an adjustable collar) is you can replace things more easily (cheaper) if you blowout a shock humping a curb. I don't think tein's can be replaced individually, so you'd be out 1000+ if you slamed into something with those.

They do make GABs for the s13 and to make a slight correction they're 4 way adjustable in the front 8 way in the rear. Many autocrossers pair these shocks with Eibachs.

I have them on my car and they can be a bit harsh at times but very bearable. Tokico HTS and KYB AGX shocks are also very good choices and offer a level a performance comparable to the GABs at about half the price.

If I had the money though, I would just get some ZEAL B6 coilovers.

well according to SCC the ka weighs 493lbs by its self, and the sr weighs 490lbs with the turbo, alternator, and transmission

Are you going to be "drifting" on a track? Actually if your "drifting" already I would assume you would know these things already...keep it off pubilc streets. How long have you had your s13? Do you already drift or are you looking to start?
Any car you drive on pubilc roads shouldn't be TOO stiff. I've lost (complete or partical...couldn't tell) contact with the road surface under extremely hard cornering (inducing an unwanted slide ) with my stock springs and shocks. Unexpected bumps in the road are a bitch! You don't want to be thrown into a slide when you want to grip, bumps will do that to you, and stiffer springs will magnify this. I don't remember what spring rates My240likenoother went with but I'm pretty sure it was less than 400. Check the FAQ on this site for different spring rates and you can get a good idea of what to get there. I wouldn't go any harder than Tein HA, or zeal street spec.

Tein HA's come with (kg/mm) 6/5 (F/R) Type Flex are 5/4 for s13 and 6/5 for S14

So that should give you an idea of what kind of spring rates to look for.

would dragging be better to get into rather than drifting if I want to use my car for daly driving?

that's like a really silly question to ask.
it all depends on your preference... if you like dragging, then take it to the 1/4 mile track. and if you like drifting, take it to the nearest road course or secluded mountain road. keep it as far away from innocent people as possible

here's a question tho:
say I wanted a daily driver and a crazy autoX car, what type of suspension should I go with? Coilovers of some form for sure b/c of the autoX aspect.. but the daily driver thing is worrying me... any suggestions? I heard the HKS hidamper system is like 31-way adjustable-- but they have them only for S14s rite?

Ok first we will clear up some things here. One , KYB AGX's are GAB super HP's . How do I know? Talked to the guys at Ground Control one day for quite awhile . Turns out they tore apart a GAB and the AGX because externally the look exactly the same. Guess what? The valving is exactly the same the only difference in the two shocks was the piston shaft on the GAB was made of a little higher quality metal i.e. less prone to calcium corrosion.
So the best bang for your buck that is 4 way adjustable up front and 8 way in the rear is the KYB AGX.
Now on to the spring part. If you combine these shocks with KG/MM springs you will have a pretty decent setup that is pretty stiff but adjustable .
I am currently running AGX's on my 91 fastback with HKS super sport springs. I have my fronts set on 3 and my rears on 5. this is giving me a little oversteer i.e. good for sliding . Now I have whiteline adjustable swap bars going in the next week or two and rear subframes bushings as well.
later on after my Turbo install I may go Ground Control which I think are great for the money because if you have a problem they are here in the states and things can fixed quickly . The only other coilover makers that have service shops stateside are JIC Magic and Endless Zeal. Jic being affordable at a little over $1000. but reputed to be very very stiff. Endless being excellent suspension and also very expensive.
hope this helps you
Dave

I run:

Koni's with coilover sleeves.
Eibach Springs
Whiteline swaybars (adjustable&#33
Poly & spherical bushes (camber correction)

Wishlist:
Ground Control Camber plates

This would be too harsh for the street IMO, but works great on the track!
