Sup guys, I tried search so don't yell at me. I'm about to hook up my amp and my piece of shit Aiwa CD deck doesn't have anywere to hook up the remote wire. Can I just splice into the 12v ignition wire on my harness? Will that work? Any reply would be great.
Thanks, John |

Are you sure there is no remote wire!
I usually is blue and white. If there is nothing like that then you should be able ot hook the remote up to the ignition, making sure there is no power to the amps when the key is not in the ignition. If that will be a problem try running a little toggle switch under the dash for the remote wire so you can manually connect/disconnect on/off signal to the amplifier. Cheers |

The easiest and safest place that i have found is to run the wire to your fuse box, find the fuse that is used for your radio (or another electrical component that only comes on when your key is in the ignition). strip the wire, wrap it in a figure-8 around the 2 prongs sticking out of the fuse, and push the fuse back into its rightful slot. put the fuse cover back for a nice, clean look. I assure you that this method will work and be safe (ie-not start any fires or drain your battery). I know because my amp has had this set-up for the last 3 years. Just make sure all of your grounds are "straight" (most peoples stereo problems stem from a bad ground) and you'll be golden. good luck!
