As some of you may know Don (from PDM) put zeal coilovers on his s13 a couple months back and he said they were very light (among other good things about them). He said he was glad they were so light becasue "suspension weight is important weight". We all know why the weight of rims are important. And we know even more clearly what dead weight does. Why is suspension weight any more important then just regular dead weight?

Maybe it has something to do with recoil speed etc.  Since heavier objects require more force to stop/begin their motion (think inertia) So maybe they can react quicker than a strut with a heavier build?

Yep ... the heavier springs dont rebound quite so quick. But if you are just using it for street apps then it doesnt really matter, but in Auto-X and SCCA you learn that its pretty important. A downside to it though is they tend to bounce a bit harder, as with my Teins vs. HKS.
