You don't use a kit to mount a radio in any 88-02 Nissan. ISO mount it directly to the brackets, that's what they're there for.

Yep. They bolt right in. You just need the harness adapter. Unless you want to do it the hard way and splice it right into the wires.

they stole the stock radio brackets and the black plastic insert, therefore i dont have anything to mount into, and just mounting it to the brackets (which are $16 a piece) isnt going to look all that great considering there will just be a hole under it where the black insert used to be. this is why i wanted to know if i could get cheeper radio brackets that would take less time to recieve.

Metra makes a plastic replacement bracket that comes with a din pocket. I am not sure of the part number though sorry.

yea they do have the replacement, its Metra model #99-7407, replacement for the 89-94 240SX. I got it for $16 shipped to my door in 2 days. Will see if i need factory mounting brackets, i know people that dont have them and it seems to work fine so we'll see.

Only problem is that it top mounts the radio instead of ISOing into the OE mounts, so it looks like fuck.
But some people like that.

Some people when forced to choose between some in car music and a lower aesthetic quality will choose to have the music over nothing at all. I know, it's crazy I mean why not listen to the soothing tone of your exhaust but alas some people are just so insane what can you say.

From my experience the radios in the center console are often in the top din and the pocket is in the bottom, at least thats how mine is/was and the same goes for most of the radios in the S13's I come across in the pick and pulls.
