z32 rebuilt calipar pricing
I know i been killing ya'll with the pricing questions, but im almost done with my journey from going from 4 lug to 5lug ans z32 brake upgrade. Also im probably gonna call autozone and see how much they sell rebuilt ones for to get an idea.

uhhh, personally I would get the 26mm callipers, they clear a wider selection of wheels. Don't bid over $200 as shipping will be outrageous.

i priced it out at my store (national auto stores).
if you put in your calipers as core, you can get rebuilt 26mm or 30mm front WITH rears for under 300. you will still need the ebrake ass. and lines and pads and rotors, but its pretty good deal |

Salvage yards have much better pricing, and rebuild kits are easy to get. For about $150 you can get all four calipers and pay the $8 or so for kits, that way you can paint/powdercoat while they're apart. If you must buy new, you can find unloaded calipers for as low as $70 each, loaded for maybe $100, but they come with cheap pads and all the anti-rattle hardware which is useless.
And for the record, it's a completely dick move to turn Schassis calipers in as cores, that's why the prices go up or calipers are out of stock because most rebuilders are sitting on a pile of 240 calipers and can't get the Z32 calipers to send out. Typical 240 owners being lowball, cheap bastards.

Personally, after having done the 300zx brakes with unloaded calipers, I would probably buy the loaded next time around just for the ease of installation. The unloaded calipers don't come with the pad pins, Pin clips, or the pad tension spring. And as I said before, I (and most the 300zx guys I read about) have success with quieting squeling pads by using the pad shims.

Go on the 300zx forums they sell there stuff for cheap.
Russ: I cannot agree with you on this specific topic, the inability to reslove small issues and insinuations they never addressed is more than enough to merit the, "Fuck you suprise caliper switch" I loath the rice shop and regret ever going there. HOWEVER, I never had opportunity to do so, I bought my kit from HT YEARS ago when it was an arm and a leg. New! |

I haven't seen any Z32s in salvage yards around here, which sucks because they're a frickin goldmine (MAF, brakes, uprights, fuel pump, leather shift knob). I think I need to start wandering further from home or just buying from car-parts.com or something.

I called autozone they sell z32 calipars for 200 without the core, i think 150 with a core, and the calipars will be unloaded. and still need (correct me if im wrong)
2 PAD RETAINING SPRINGS 4 PAD PINS 4 COTTER PINS. NEW PISTON SEALS NEW BOOTS NEW BOOT RETAINING RINGS NEW BLEEDER SCREW

It's "caliper," not "calipar." I didn't think that unloaded calipers came without seals, boots, and bleeder screws, but I could be wrong. Just shop around, people spend way too much on Z32 brake parts.
