well first, get rid of that xs turbo kit idea
go with f-max stage 2
much much better and if u need a dealer to get it from
here--
nathan at Import motorsports -717-269-1160
as for rebiuld, go for the usual pistons and rods for high boost and maybe want to touch the head depending how much boost u expect to run. i can get into real depth about high boost things to do for the 240sx because there is alot to do--from reshaping the intake ports and cylinder dome to a custom intake manifold

set you goals first then look at what u need to get

AFAIK, nothing is wrong with the XS kits... it's just that FMax has a better kit on the whole. It's more complete, just remembering some of the components off the top of my head (like the JWT ecu and 50lb injectors and Cobra MAF setup).

ok...what i want is a very fast car without nitrous oxide (however i may put some in just for the hell of it) I'll go with the f-max stage 2. I wanna run high boost, but i still want it to accelerate like a bat out of hell. Now my goals are set. Feel free to go into as much detail as u want i guess.... I like opinions.

ok, will it be a daily driver and do u want to spend alot of money,
if it is a daily/weekendcar i would get the usual je-pistons 8.5:1, crower rods(or shot peened stock ones) and balance and polish the crank, right there it is good for 20-23psi with a good fuel system(72lbs injectors)
if u want to run with more boost, i would get the head ported and polished with stiffer springs and some cams to get rid of that overlap stock has.
the intake manifold is not nessary to touch.
u can also go with a bigger turbo--for an example, i have a t3/t04b and i am hitting 24psi. but i will be getting t04r or a t60 that will give me much more power at the same boost, but more lag.
also spark plugs are important as muchas pistons are, u need a set of ngk v-power racing plugs for more than 22psi or other plugs tend to break up and blow out the spark

I heard that f-max doesn't supply the JWT ecu with their kit anymore. So you have to spend extra just for that if you want it instead of whatever they replaced it with.

I believe that people on freshalloy who ordered the kit got it and it didn't include it. Apparently they didn't update their website.

"We reserve the right to substitute any part without notice."
Straight off the fmax website

I will call them in the morning

He has a gst. And you are asking a bunch of 240sx owners if it is safe to crank the boost on that engine?
Ok... not the smartest thing to do.
But if you are talking about and eclipse gst, I have heard that they are boosted to 14 psi from the factory.
The thing about boosting is that 14 psi out of a small, stock turbo is NOT the same as 14psi out of a t3/4 that most 240sx people run with. Also, the engines are completely different, and can take different ammounts of stress before they die.
Ask on some DSM site...

i just got off the phone with FMAX
the jwt ecu doesnot come with it any more because it said it held up time for delivery so the customer would have to get it dont by them selves. but a dealer should be able to take care of that for u. i know i do.

anyone put a t04E on their ka? when does that start to boost? (i'm looking for around 3- 3.5k) i'm looking for something that will be able to get up to 20psi and hold that for a while without overheating too much... t04E, t60.... building a track car (GT not drag)

the to4e is fine- i would go with a t3/t04e hybrid for quicker response
the t04e will start boosting around 3700rpm

I think if you buy the rev-hard manifold it has a t3 flange right? The T3/T4 hybrid bolts right on it.. (could be wrong..)

thanks Boosted, i was wondering about that, i think i'll go with the t04e, i don't want it to boost that early, 3700 will be a good boost point for me. and the t04e gets better top end and will keep temps down a bit.

hope you realize that the the manifold flange and downpipe pattern is totally different from the t3/t043

blackfox- i thought u had a turbo on your car, and it was a t3/t04

if u want to keep the t3 flange setup- talk to xs-engineering, they can make a custom turbo that keeps the t3 flange yet is more efficient than the t04e

you can also go with the t60 hi-fi which is really a t04 that can fit on a t3 setup.

blackfox- another alternative is your trim and a/r. take a t3/t04e use a stage 3 turbine wheel, a .82a/r and i believe it is a 51trim( i am not sure on this one) and wala- you got a turbo for top end
