Prices for clean 240SX?
What are 240's usually going for as compared to Blue Book value?
I remember it took about a year to find mine and I was willing to pay pretty much anything the guy asked... Is this still the case?

it's getting worse now... asking prices are pretty much what you're going to pay.
5 days ago I paid $2850 for a 91 fastback that needs cleaned up and some bodywork... 5 speed, black interior and no frame rot made the deal for me. 2 Years ago I paid $5500 for a 96 SE that had minor body damage. It seems that fining a solid chassis (esp s13) to build on is getting harder and harder as years go by. Values will go up on the basis that everything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for. In the case of these cars, I think people are willing to pay a lot.

$2850? Damn, that's a lot... My friend was trying to get a S14 base model 95, for less than that.
Where in Pittsburgh are you? gonna love the potholes! Quote:

S14 Base Model, for a price under $2750.
Car needs some minor work, definitely a tune up, but overall, No power locks, no A/C, no alloy wheels, ----> no love ![]() I got my 240sx 93, 148k, salvage title for $1150. Currently she has a rebuild title ![]() Quote:

If you go for stick 5spds you will pay more. The automatics seems to hold the regular price for the most part. If you are going for a swap the automatic would be easier to obtain cheaper. I really don't know if auto makes the swap harder but I would not think so.
I've seen plenty of really decent automatic 240sx go for relatively cheap prices. |

actually what is funny is , S13 prices while they seem to have gone up have pretty much topped out around $3500 for a decent somewhat low mileage one thats stock. This is due in part to the fact that S14 prices have dropped. 3 years ago you could not touch a decent S14 for under 5k now they are popping up all the time in the 3500-4500 range. I will say that 89-90' S13's have started to hold their value after plummeting for a couple of years. Now a 5 speed 89-90 will go from $1500-2300 depending on mileage and condition and people are asking higher for them. 91 and up are just getting harder and harder to find decent ones. Though like I said prices have topped out at $3500

Mike13 that seems a little high to me, unless it has some mods. Should have been in the neighborhood of $1250-1500
As for the '98 w/ 60k miles its value is around $6000-7500 depending on the condition. Without seeing the vehicle I really could not put a value on it. Of course I am looking at it as a Car dealer. And believe it or not the value of a vehicle is relative to the region of the country that you live in. So the value of a S14 here (Alabama) is certianly less than say California. Jamie |

I live in California, bay area, so there's no shortage of buyers... I'm just not sure if most people are tacking on a premium since the cars are SO extremely rare, and demand is reasonably high.

There was a local s14 for $2800 but it needed a lot of work.
Engine was running, 5 speed, 160k miles, but the car was multicolored (fenders, hood from different cars), shady history, and salvage title. I bought my car for $1900. 91 coupe 118k miles, salvage title and i bought my first 240 (2-3 years ago) for $1200, 150k, clean title, virtually perfect |

mack, interesting... see that's what I'm thinking is that I know people can't really shop price on a '98 5-speed SE. They're just too rare, and my car is very clean so I guess I'll let people tell me what is too much.

S13--->$2000 or less
S14--->$3000+ These are the non-inflated prices. I personally, no matter how much I love 240s wouldn't pay an inflated price. Sorry, no way. Because if you look you will find. You can find a good conditon and decent priced one. Its not something impossible. But, if its a Kouki S14, ha, forget it. Even here where you can find 240s at reasonable prices they can go $5-7K easy. The pignose S13 are dirt cheap, and you can find them in decent condition. |

i found a 1996 240sx SE, leather, good shape, automotic (only drawback), with only 54,410 miles on it and they want $7,985.00 it is at a dealership in nebraska so what is your opinion on the price? i thinks its a little high but the miles and condition are awesome.

o man more i read posts like this happier i get thinking that i paid 3400 for my 98 SE in perfect condition minus broken AC line and few minor scratches!
![]() duderiffic, this is just something i thought may be a good idea... or not i didnt look at all angles. list the car for like 10.5k on autotrader under Cali zip code. then in description put down that car is not in cali but if a person flyes to Oregon to check this car out and decides to purchase it you will cover the Ticket and Hotel. shoudnt cost you more then 200 and this will interest a lot more people from West coast since some people only look for cars taht are local and if they dont see none they jsut give up. since your car is in such good condition and nearly stock you shouldnt have a problem getting that much for it. wow i shoudl really consider useing periods and commas |

I see plenty of S14s in cali going in the neighborhood of 3500. It's the koukis that command big prices. The zenki, much like the s13 has lost some appeal due to ghetto ricers altering them with ebay parts.

Al,
I actually am in the Bay Area, I just moved after graduating college. Which is why I'm ready to move on. My car is 99% stock, the only thing that isn't stock is the stereo (Alpine CD with XM radio) which I could remove and set back to stock in a matter of minutes. No exterior mods, no engine mods, and just the CD player in the interior. I'm thinking that $10k to $12k is a decent starting price. If that's too much... guess what? It wont sell... heh. (I've heard "no" many times before ![]() I'm not 100% dedicated to selling, so it doesn't put me under any pressure to bend on price. And at that price I'm going to need to find someone who either: 1) Really wants the car 2) Has very wealthy parents (isn't that everyone down here?) Hehehe... yea the 95-96 is starting to make me dislike my body style because I see so many ghetto 3 color (white from the j-yard, black primer hood, and whatever color the car was before) S14s rolling around here in the bay. I don't think that will ever happen on such a large scale with the 97-98 since they were SO rare.
